Our 8 hour antelope hunt and the results of about a 3/4 mile stalk with him leading the way and making the calls on what to do and how to do it. I just pulled the trigger.
He is getting pretty savvy

The rifle is a Martini Cadet, and the last one my cousin made before his passing, It is a 204-223 Improved shooting 39 grain Blitzkings at 3560.

First 5 dog day, Still blowing out knees. Borrowed Chipmunk. Think the CZ Scout with 2-7 VX-1 will probably make an appearance around Christmas time.

Very cool, my son is 3 so I am looking forward to getting him started, and that Martini is a beauty as well!
It makes me smile every time I see the youngsters getting outdoors but Little Man is growing into a hunting guide! cool

Happy memories for you both! Thanks for sharing as he grows!
Very well done! Congratulations to you both...
Little Slayer Man...That’s awesome!
😎
He's making memories with his dad. Don't get any better than that.
Thanks for all the positive comments. He is learning to read and we use this thread to practice his reading, smiling every time someone new comments.

Although I'm not his dad. I'm the hunting grandpa, ( Step grandpa some folks say but I'll not use that term)

He has his feedlot / farmer grandpa teaching him life lessons in hard work, farming / ranching practices.

His dad is a hard working farming, ranching, feed lot man that seldom gets to hunt but loves it dearly.

The most rewarding experience with him hunting so far, was watching him try to solve the problem of getting on the herd of antelope in a really big pasture, looking for my thoughts about how to go about it, but in the end having a really sound solution to TRY. His comment; lets just try it and see how it works.

He and his kind are our future. If there were more like him I'd sure feel better about our future.
Awesome. How close did he get you on the antelope stalk?

We were right at 300 and couldn't get any closer,
That is just really good to see. Makes a person feel happy.
He will be 7 in July. Celebrating the last day of Covid related home school. Still blowing out knees. His best day yet with the Chipmunk, he got 14 dogs today. He thought it might make a better picture if he put his first dog of the day on a sage. He didn't want the ear muffs and glasses in the pic.
