Knowing my luck, one of the guys in the layout blinds would shoot me while I was holding it....
Funny video. Looks like a juvenile cackler (Hutchinson or Richardson) goose. Cacklers are very trusting so decoy extremely easy and it was common for the dogs to catch them if allowed to land. When I was guiding I saw them batted down with a gun barrel more than once.

Lone geese often refuse to leave the spread if allowed to land unless pushed real hard. The later in the morning the more true this seems to be. I've had juvies land and waddle about while picking up the spread even with a couple trucks, trailers, and several guys right there. It happens often enough that it can pay to keep a couple guns handy if short of a limit.

I would not recommend doing that with a Giant Canada goose, I watched a guy grab an adult by the head and attempt to wring its neck at the park one day. The dude ended up on his back with a fat lip, bloody nose, and black eye. An unwounded bird apparently packs a pretty good wallop in its wings, especially if one is overconfident.

If you arrange things properly you can put geese in the bag using a 10 1/2 pound BPS 10 gauge without ever firing a shot.

Don't ask how I know this.

Yes, witnesses are available.
I don't need none of your steenkin' witnesses, I've seen it done! Just not by me. I can claim a mallard without firing a shot but the bird struck my gun barrel versus me intentionally swatting it out of the air. Took the gun out of my hands and I initially thought it broke one of my fingers.

Field hunting can be so much more exciting than over water though a lay out is pretty darn close. Ducks commonly skim the ground just over the decoys and that can be pretty exciting if taken by surprise. If sink boxes were legal I would think that to be the most exciting.
