I have two boxes of BBs left from a conservation goose hunt last year. I’m just wondering if anyone has used them on woodies or mallards. I know they bring them down quite nicely, bit I’m wondering if the pattern is dense enough for ducks.

I use them and like the results. Folds up mallards hard.
A bit overkill for Woodies, IMO.

If you are on target, everything works. If you ain't, they won't work.

Pretty simple really.

Overkill on Woodies, IMO.

Agreed. Woodies are not hard to kill. I think these pictured were killed with steel 4s, if I remember correctly.
I do like BBs for late season mallards, as I posted above, and also because goose season is still on here.

Shoot em if ya got em.

May not give much density if ranges start to get long but entry good for closer work.

Got yourself a band on one if those drakes. I took a drake Wood Duck with a band back in 2014. It was banded in Kentucky and I killed the bird in SE Arkansas.

I can't remember exactly but I think that one wasn't banded too far away.

They’ll do the job. I kill a lot of mallards on field goose hunts with them. They fold hard. Little big for wood ducks, as said above, but they’ll work fine. If you’re close just shoot a more open choke.
