Is anyone using a Burris Fastfire on a Springer? Are they durable enough to endure the springer mechanical discharge?

Not sure, but a Vortex Sparc2, regarded as pretty tough, lost zero on my Air King after maybe a couple hundred shots. Don’t know if it’s broke or just couldn’t hold on. Might want to ask Burris first. They do use them on auto pistol slides, so maybe it’ll take it.

I replaced it with a SWFA 6X, springer-rated.

Thanks for your comment. I will ask Burris...

It can handle the recoil of my 45/70 no problems at all.

But a spring gun is an entirely different animal. I'd talk to Burris, but that still might not tell you the correct answer. Burris told me that a scope would be fine on a spring gun, I broke two of them on an RWS 350. Burris fixed it the first time. After it broke again, they gave me a new scope. I put in on a centerfire rather than break the new scope. I've yet to have a Leupold or Bushnell Elite break on a spring gun.

I emailed Burris yesterday. I will update when I hear back. My intent is to put it on a HW 95.

I'm going to say probably not, springers have far more violent recoil then any centerfire. If you HW95 has been tuned that would help some.. Ive seen springers tear up some really expensive scopes.

JMO - A reflex sight on a HW 95 would limit the potential range and accuracy. A scope would be much better. I have a Fast Fire on a 22 lever action. The gun is for fast action plinking. The 3mm dot covers a large target area @ 50 yds..

Thanks for the feedback Gents. No reply from Burris, I'll try to call them next week. I may just go the (air gun) scope route and know I have a proven performer.

I like a red dot okay on an air pistol, but the rifles deserve something more precise, hence the Super Chicken on my Air King. Since different pellets can have different POIs, the repeatable adjustments should come in handy too.

BTW, PA told me that their Cyclops prism wasn’t airgun rated, a disappointment.

Your Marlin looks to be better finished than most. Very nice.

I actually had thought of that but having used the SS 6X on a Montana my knock against it was the size and weight but I know it would do the job. I just looked at the SWFA web site and had forgotten about the 2.5-10X32 Ultralight which should be a pretty good match up. They are out of stock so I got on the notification list.

Most of my air rifles have Hawke Airmax scopes. Specifically designed for the brutal action of a springer.

Thanks. I'll take a look.

FWIW, Yesterday just before noon I was on the SWFA website perusing the various SS scopes for my airgun and sent a question to verify if the Ultralight was indeed suitable for airgun use and in less than 12 hours received a reply confirming it is. Never did hear back from Burris, that's ok as I'm now going in a different direction.
