Well that's it....I've been assimilated to the Dark Side.

Just got this Avenger up and running. It's a tack driver.

The gun arrived with about 1K psi in the tank. I degassed it, dropped the regulator setting to 1/4 turn ccw from the bottom, refilled with hand pump to 3100 psi. It's rated to 4350 psi/300 bar, but since i'm hand pumping, 3100 seems good.

So after getting it charged I broke out the chrono, and made a minor increase on the regulator, to get velocity from 790 fps at minimum, up to 810 fps. It only took maybe 1/8 of a turn on the reg screw.

So my settings are just a hair over 1600 psi on the reg, and hammer spring all the way out, minimun spring pressure.

Velocity 810 fps with JSB 25.4gr. I shot 28 rounds, and that brought my reservoir pressure from 3100 to 2200. Probably 40 rounds would take the supply down to the regulator pressure, at 3100 fill. I can only guess a fill to 4350 psi max fill, would yield around 80 shots at my reg setting.

25 yard zeroing, sub 1/4" 3-shot groups.

55 yards, sub 1" with the two 'flyers'. Not bad considering breeze 10-14 mph from 7-8 oclock.

Just an observation here,

I stopped shooting at 2200 psi in the reservoir. That was outside, temp around 25F. After the gun warmed up in the house, the reservoir pressure rose to 2300 psi.
My prediction is that there is a Nomad II in your near future. Hand pumping those things is a beech.
I noticed that pumping was pretty easy up to around 3K psi, then I felt it taking more downward pressure to get to the bottom of the stroke.

Looks like shooting from 3000 down to 2000 yields around 35-40 shots, and takes about 80 strokes on the pump to bring it back up to 3000. Probably fewer strokes at lower elevation. 4000' ASL here.

I picked up a Hill MK5 pump from Airgun Depot. Supposedly useable to 4500 psi. I don't know if it's any better than the $40 eBay/China pump, no prior experience.
I added a DonnyFL suppressor, and a UTG bipod. Pretty much completes this rig. It's amazingly accurate, 1/2" at 50 yards with JSB 25.4gr. I'm real happy with it.

The 'Tanto' is the smallest model DonnyFL makes. It really tones down this gun. I had to choose between a model for 22/25 cal, or 25/30 cal. I went 25/30, to make sure there wouldn't be any pellet clipping, or baffle strikes. Also a shout out for very fast shipping.

When it was new, I was getting around 810 fps with the reg set at 1600 psi. After a couple hundred rounds , velocity had dropped to about 775 fps. Probably some dieseling on the new barrel.

So , I've upped the reg pressure to 1900 psi, and that brought velocity up to 830 fps with the JSB 25.4gr.

I'm getting around 40 shots or so, shooting the reservoir from 4000 psi, down to 2000 psi.
Different rifle/caliber, but I use a Dommy/FL suppressor with my Hatsam .30 caliber, and it does a great job! Kudos also for his service!

You’re point on the caliber of the moderator makes me think I may go up to a .30 caliber for the FX Maverick .25 I have on order. If a .30 will get me close to the same sound reduction, will go that way because I may later try a .30 caliber conversion on it (very doubtful I’d ever go down to .22).

Have had it on pre-order since early Jan, sounds like I may have it by early May... Pretty stoked!
Yeah I've read a few forum accounts about pellet clipping, that I just decided to play it safe and go with the 25/30.

And who knows, If I ever get a 30 cal, I'll have a moderator to fit it too.
