I'm looking to buy a PCP air rifle. I like both of these rifles but can only afford one of the two. Both seem to be outstanding rifles. We use to shoot 10 meter silhouette at our club but right now its down waiting on someone to step up and take it over. The main use will be for silhouette, pest control and just general plinking. Both rifles has their pro's and con's. I'd like to hear opinions please. Rifles will be either 177 or 22 depending on availability.
I would do the maurader of the two.
I guess the best budget rifle is the avenger?

I shot a regulated air arms SL 500 in 177, and it is excellent. I think a regulator is really important for shot count and consistency.
I really like the Maurader but the reviews on the Avenger are pretty good for a budget rifle. I found an RWS Model 48 in a pawn shop. He's got it priced more than a new one but even though its a nice rifle, that thing is heavy.
Boy howdy!

My Air King with a SWFA 10x bottoms out my 11-pound kitchen scale. I guess they figger anyone who can cock it can also hold it up to shoot it.

Agreed.

I'm not familiar with either of the rifles in the OP, but the rifle I have has both regulated and non-reg air cylinders, and the regulated kicks ass over the non, accuracy-wise.
I've got both. They have different purposes for me. The talon is compact and light weight. It's awesome for pest control and plinking. Marauder is heavier. Mine is not regulated. Trigger is easy to tune.

Accuracy tunes for both (Talon Top Hat and Preload dial, and Marauder Preload and hammer travel) are well covered online as these two models have been around for a while.

If you're shooting Silhouette, Marauder serves that purpose better by far. More weight out front will slow the wobble.
I’ve tried both and settled with a 22 Marauder…air rifles are an addicting sport
I have the Marauder in 22 cal and I LOVE IT. I kill more vermin with it than I have ever killed with 3 spring guns. It is very accurate and dependable. I use the scuba tank for refills. I used to hand pump, but it gets old fast. I have had mine for 7 years and shoot it every day. We used to have a squirrel problem. I have killed so many with the Marauder, sometimes 5 a day. They are very quiet also. Get one and you will not regret it.
Anyone have a Marauder for sale? Prefer .177 but will consider a 22.
