Looking for a neighbor friendly gun to whack woodchucks probably max of 75 yards. Thinking of going the pcp route. Any suggestions appreciated
The new Macavity Arms MA2 in 30 caliber looks pretty nice. It's a new gun on the market, so there's no long-term knowledge on it. But it seems to have some nice features, good accuracy, good power, and reasonably priced.

I've used my .25 cal Benjamin Marauder on them to good effect. Pretty quiet, accurate and enough power to penetrate their skull at your max distance.

Very interesting, thank you for posting. I may have to hit the “go” button on this!
I'm leaning toward getting an MA2 in 30 caliber. It looks like they are not yet in the pre-order status, so I don't know when they might be available.

I watched a couple vids, and it was noted that the review guns were 'pre-production' guns.
I don't know about 75 yds., but My HW 90 .22 smacks them pretty good.
For anyone interested, I have a really nice Taipan Vet, Gen 1, in .25 that would easily meet your needs. It has a power plenum, Donny FL Tanto moderator, doesn't leak, and a lot of accessories. It is a CZ made rifle. It shoots JSB 33 and the JSB Knockout slugs very well at about 900 fps.

I have been planning on posting it on Airgun Nation, but haven't gotten around to it yet. It has the green laminate stock and is the 700mm model. Perfect condition and ready to go. The only reason that I am considering selling it is that it is a bit too much for my backyard. I usually shoot a Brocock Commander XR in .22, as it is more backyard friendly where I live. I am located in North Alabama, but would ship as I have the box. If you're interested, please pm me, and I will send you pics and details. Best of luck in your pursuit! smile

The Marauder in .25 caliber would be a great choice! I have one in .177 and it is very accurate. My .25 cal gun is an FX Impact and has more than enough power for woodchucks at 75 yards. A Marauder in 25 cal would too and is much more budget friendly.
75 yards you'll need a PCP gun, but if you can handle shorter yardage, a spring gun will work. I've killed them with head shots with .177 magnum spring guns at probably 30 yards, but the .22 calibers work better.
I'm shooting H&N 31-ish grains out of a Hatsan 125 .25 cal

It's been proven to 80 lasered yards on rabbits. Maybe only tried it on 'chucks at half that. It DOES smack critters HARD.

Guessing 75 yards on a woodchuck would be asking a lot without a head shot.
That .25 caliber H125 is no joke.
I don't know it's max effective range but mine is making around 32.fpe (or.more) with many lead pellets.
I'd certainly take an honest shot at one from 50, probably more.

I'm kinda with you on the 50 yard thing for groundhogs. They don't always die easy. Obviously a head shot would do a chuck in with a .177 at 50 yards. But I usually ain't that good.

The 80 yard shot on the (asparagus patch thieving) rabbit was a chest shot on a half-grown rabbit. I had a rock solid rest and was giving the bunny daylight over its back. Skill ?? Horseshoe up my hind end ?? Won't say. But the "WHOP !!!" when the pellet landed was rather impressive.
