For shmidts and giggles, I shot a few pellets into water (in 1 gallon plastic milk jugs) and store-bought jelatin (like you use for jelly). I used my RWS mod. 48 that shoots 16 grain at 700+ fps and 14 grains at the mid 700s fps. The media were at 20 yards.

The pellets used were, left to right, 14 grain RWS Super H, 16 grain Pollymag Predator, 15.5 Gamo Hunter round nose, 14 grain MeisterKugeln flat nose, and the Premier hollow point(container does not list the weight, but probably near 16 grains). Only the Super H and the Pollymag predator (plastic tip) expanded.

Penetration and expansion were the same in the water medium as in the jelatin medium. The RWs Super H penetrated 6.5 inches, The predator went 5.5 inches, the Gamo hunter went 10+ inches, the flat nose went 7.5 inches, and the Premier hollow point went 11 inches (the same as the round nose and with no expansion).

I have been using the Predator Mags on squirrels. They work. Thanks for posting.
I shot a bunch of rock chucks (50-60)last weekend with the Crossman Premier Hollow points from my .22cal R-9. Shot through several, thought I had missed, even a few with a ricochet behind them - until they started flopping. They worked, but seemed like too much of the energy was wasted with pass throughs.
Centershot, what is the weight on those CP hollow points and what kinda fps is you R9 shootin em at?
14.3gr if I remember correctly. They were at 665fps when my gun was new - I have not shot it through the chronograph lately to see what it's at now with a couple tins thought it.
