Yesterday I took a crack at 100 yards.
This is my regular shooting spot, I've lazered the distance before so I know how where 100 yards is. This is what it looked like looking back to my truck, I know it's hard to see the bench, it's right behind the truck. I took these pictures with my iPhone. (wish it had zoom)

And it's closer than it seems.
Here's the can with over 10 shots through it.

After checking out the can I looked up and past it and thought, let's try 110 yards.

The center stake is what I was aiming for, it's about 10 yards past the can.
A light breeze started, about 2-3 mph coming from my back at 4:00 o'clock. I SWAGed (Scientific Wild A$$ Guess) the Kentucky windage and let it go. And I made the shot. I was more excited about making this one shot than all of the ones in the can.

And this is the gun that did it. Nothing fancy, a gas rammed HW80/R1 in .177 mounted with a Hawke Sport HD 3-9X40.

I already have an idea to try out next weekend, if I get a chance.

Very cool. My 12-yr old daughter and I shot our .177's in the backyard today at about 15 yards. She was shooting a Gamo Whisper with a 3-9 and I was shooting a RWS with a 4x. We both were shooting into 1 hole. She was having fun and I was having fun just because she was. I told her I wanted to shoot mine at 50 yds, but never thought about 100.

Quality time together, that's something she'll remember the rest of her life, that's even cooler.

Rezero your scope and give it a shot, you never know, you just might hit the target. That's what I did.

Yes, but I didn't figure out how much. My best guess, between 8-12 inches. I had the can zeroed on the bottom dot and still had to crack up the elevation 20 clicks just to hit to bottom left of the can, from there I just held over a bit higher.

This is about 12 miles outside of Vegas, about 25-28 miles north of the Cali/Nevada border.

You must have started with a 50 yards zero. I know most 22LR's with a 50 yard zero will still drop 6" to 8" at 100.

The gun is actually zeroed @ 40 yards. This was a spur of the moment thing so I just held over on the first shot on the bottom dot to see where I was then crancked it up 20 clicks. From there I just held over for the rest of the shots. Next time I go out I'll rezero at 50 and try again. At least now I know where I'm at as far as 100 yrds on this rig.

Any estimates of muzzle and at the target velocities?

No, I'm afraid to put my chrony out that far, just in case I miss,
I don't want to put a hole in it. If, and when I can cut a piece of Lexan for the front of the chrony, then I'll put it out there.
Speaking of holes, the pellets still have enough power to penetrate, but not go through the whole can.
That tells me that if I ever have the chance to pop a cotton tail at that distance, I'm going to try. Head shot, of course.

It's amazing how accurate a good old spring gun can be. Doesn't take much of a wind to really open those groups up though. Popped a starling at a little over 60 yards the other day, 2 mil dots up and one dot into the wind - smack, deader than a doornail!

I took my HW97 (.177) out today and got some shooting in while Jr. took a nap in his car seat. I made consistent damage on a can at 70yds while leaning over the truck. My scope doesn't have dots, so I used the elevation turret to re-zero, then guessed the wind. It's amazing how the slightest changes affect POI. Of course a .014 BC doesn't help.

I plan to try my hand at the 100yd game the next time I'm out.
