What can you guys tell me about the BSA Airsporter S, underlever design, walnut (?) checkered stock with recoil pad, grooved receiver, open sights. I got one from an estate , given to me, and know absolutely nothing about them, and don't have any books on airguns. Internet search didn't turn up a whole lot. Thanks.

I had one for awhile. Beautiful stock (supposedly French walnut) and nicely finished metal. Trigger wasn't too bad and accuracy was good, but very hold sensitive (typical of hi power springers). I had difficulty keeping a scope from creeping and didn't like the fact that it had no manual safety, although keeping the loading tap rotated up would prevent a pellet from being fired in case of an AD..
