I finally managed to get confirmation of the proof being ready. Once it's checked, and I give the thumbs up, it will go to distribution and be available to the public.
Best of luck with that. My imagination says there are some laffs between the covers.
Thanks. Yes, it is a collection of humourous, and not so humourous stories. Some were posted here. Many were inspired by 24 Hr Campfire members. Virtually all are about hunting, shooting and the outdoors.

This COVID stuff slows everything down. I am at a loss to understand exactly why, in this case. Everything was handled via the computer - emails, texts and file uploads.

I figure to make it available to the Campfire crew at a discount. Signed.
I received the proof copy in the mail today. A proof copy is a pre-production book that is checked for completeness, cover quality, etc.

It was a bittersweet day. Dad and I discussed the book earlier this year at his birthday party (he was a leap year baby) and he was waiting to get a copy. One of the first edits was changing the dedication page.

From here, a quick note for the thumbs up and it will go into print.

Steve;
Good afternoon to you sir, I hope the last day of July was a decent one for you and you all are well.

Please accept my condolences on the passing of your father.

We lost my much loved mother in law in May as well and the whole beer virus thing has prevented us from having a formal family gathering.

Anyways sir, I'm sorry for your loss.

As mentioned too, once you have copies available to hit Canada Post, please let me know where to send the money.

Thanks and all the best to you folks as we head into August.

Dwayne
Hi Dwayne. I will definitely let you and everyone else know when all the hurdles have been cleared.

I wanted to post this too. My daughter gave me a present to kick off the book. Apparently, she bought it a while back. Because of my father's passing and the inevitable delays associated with getting a book ready, she gave it to me today.

The fists inside the heart represent me and my youngest grandson, who is pictured on the back cover.

Another update

The price of the book is $18.95 CDN + shipping. Within Canada, Canada Post wants $5. To the States, they want $11.
---

Total, within Canada - $23.95, all in.

Amazon Canada

Total, to the US - $29.95 CDN - Don't forget that the US dollar is worth more than ours. In USD, the price is about $23. all in.

Amazon US

Internationally, $40.95 CDN, but I doubt that anyone overseas will order.

A heads up for US and International buyers - - - Buy it through amazon! Shipping is cheaper. But you will not get a signed copy.
Steve;
Top of the morning to you sir, I hope all is well in your world and you're keeping cool enough.

Sorry to ask what is likely an obvious question, but since you've given the Amazon link, is that the preferred way you like to sell the book?

I'll be ordering one via some manner, or better said seeing my technical ineptitude attempting to order one!

Edit to add;
It would be my preference to have a signed copy because - well you know! cool

Thanks in advance.

Dwayne
Good morning. I have books coming for anyone who wants a signed copy. Amazon is another way for people to get one, if they don't care if their copy is signed.

Some people choose amazon because of the lower shipping charges. In Canada, if you order over $35 worth of stuff, shipping is free. With the ongoing COVID scare, more people are ordering stuff online. Amazon has a contract with the post office to distribute their stuff.

I live just outside a small village. At Christmas, the village PO is piled high with amazon boxes. It's been like that for a few years. Fewer letters. More packages.
I just ordered your book from Amazon prime and it was $18.18 shipped with tax here in Texas. I have enjoyed your writing, keep up the great work.
Thanks for the kind words. I will give it my best. smile

And thanks for letting us know the price, shipped, in the US. I am a little worried because Covid is affecting things. Could you let me know when you get it? I am hoping for fast delivery.
Steve;
Thanks for the reply sir, I appreciate it.

When the books get into your hands then, please let me/us know and I'll order a signed one.

Thanks in advance and all the best to you all until then.

Dwayne
Hi Steve,
I would like a copy of your book direct from you. Sounds like it is quite the book.
Will payment by emt be ok?
Thanks,
Jeff
Hi Jeff. Will do. I have you on the list. Thanks!

EMTs are fine.
Hi Steve,
Thanks very much.
Jeff
Add my name to the list, Steve. It will be a great one to have along on canoe trips and hunting excursions.

Best,
Ted
Hi Ted. Will do! Books don't need batteries, chargers or an Internet connection. smile
I ordered my copy today on Amazon.

By letting them wait a week to deliver I got an extra $1 for my cheap mil-history book habit on Kindle.
Good deal. You will also get it faster, ordering through amazon in the US.
steve i enjoy what you post . a lot of knowledge with good humor . i am going to order a copy from amazon
44mc,

Thanks for the kind words. I hope that you enjoy the book. I had a lot of fun writing it! laugh It took me a while.
LMK when you have a signed one.

Thanks

NP. I got you on the list. Thanks!
Good news. The first shipment of books is on the way. They say everything should be here by Sept 1st. I'm hoping sooner.
I just wanted y'all to know that my copy of Steve's book arrived from Amazon, and I started reading it yesterday.

Within the first few pages of the first story, I had to put it down. It was just TOO GOOD to waste on a rainy, muggy Saturday morning. This is the book I'm taking with me to the deer blind in November.
I'm glad you like it! Thanks for the kind words.

I am going to be home later today. The first book shipment is sitting in my office. I will be signing them and getting a bunch ready for shipment. If you asked me for a book, I should be contacting you later today!

Again, my thanks to shaman and everyone who has taken the time to post or email me.
I was away for a few days and when I got home, there were some boxes waiting. The books are ready to ship.

Price to ship within Canada - $23.95, all in.

To the US - $29.95 CDN all in. (about $23 USD)

Paypal for anyone. EMTs optional for Canada.

It was a busy evening.

I have put aside the books for everyone who preordered one, and have ordered more. The second shipment is due in this week. I have about a dozen left from the first order. Of course, they are also available through amazon.

A big thank you to everyone who showed an interest!!

I neglected to provide a paypal email addrress, and for the Canadians, my email for EMTs. My apologies to the people who PMed. whistle

Paypal email - [email protected]
EMTs - [email protected]
I am caught up with almost all of the orders. I mailed out four more this morning. I just got back from the post office and decided since it was 30 Celsius or 86 Foreignheat and muggy, that I should sit in the air and make some clam chowdah.

Sorry for the delayed response. The book arrived at my door 3 days after it was ordered. I began reading it and found I really enjoyed your writing style. I was blasting through the book and decided to limit myself to a page or two each day to savor the book a bit longer. Got caught up in family matters and left the book at home, just finished it last night.

Great writing...well worth the price of admission! Looking forward to reading more of your work!

Scott
Hi Scott! Thanks again for the kind words.

I am very happy to hear that the post office is getting the orders delivered quickly. I am not sure about the US, but in Canada, they have been prioritizing shipments and parcels. Things must slowly be getting back to normal.

Enjoy the book. I will be working on another for next year. Cheers.
Don't leave me out when you sign books. But about $23 American? Is that the exact amount you need? I'm always up for a book written by someone I "know". I'm convinced it will be good. Thanks and Be Well, RZ.
I have one signed for you. smile

The exact exchange rate is $23.60 USD. I was just trying to save everyone some money.

Steve;
Good evening to you sir, I hope the day was a good one for you and all is as it should be as much as possible in your world.

This is just to let you know the book arrived today. It looks like it'll supply lots of good reading time so thanks again.

All the best to you this fall and good luck on your hunts.

Dwayne
Hi Dwayne. Thanks for the kind words. Please feel free to post your impressions of the book when you get the chance!

It's probably a good book to take hunting. I think I posted this earlier, but books do not require batteries or an Internet connection.

Chhers!
