Went out with my wife for a COVID mental relief drive in the country. Saw three young moose cross a road ahead of us and was able to get a couple of frames of the young bull. Amazing the ease that they jump the fence with. This was not far out of the city and in an area with lot's of acreages so he must get a fair amount of practice.

They sure are a sight! An island of fun in a sea of Covid. It reminds us that the virus will soon be gone, but nature carries on. 🙂

We live in an area where the moose winter, so we see them almost daily. Kind of a pain when you have horses, and hay! I learned long ago to keep our hay inside the barn where they cant get to it. Moose can be hell on fences too. A guy told me this winter that 42-inches high is the secret if you want to keep moose from destroying your fences. According to him they will jump a fence thats 42-inches high, but any higher and they go right through it. Mine must be to high because I've been fixing fence all winter!

Interesting on the 42 inch height. I had not heard on that. In this case the landowner had a couple of areas where one section of fence was left low. Still 3 strand but dropped about 8 inches. This locations all had game trails going to them.
