Tell Ms Justin to open the border!!
Nice job on the fish. Out limits on Walleye are low and most lakes are slot size with tags ( dedicated lake and 2 tags for that lake) so we do not see feeds like what you have got there.
Nice well deserved grins as well.
Them are chubby little lakers.
My buddy was sending me pics of walleye, scotch and cigars from his cottage all weekend. Bastid!
We're hoping that the lockdown ends and we'll do a guy's weekend about 3rd week of June.

You think that dip$hit, poofta, drama teacher is going to take logical advice from me ?

Technically, if we cared about the scamdemic bullscat, we shoulda stayed home too !
Looks good enough to eat.
I caught some walleye last week.I was north of La Tuque, Quebec and it got down to -5 celsius.I burned one cord of wood trying to stay warm and if that was not bad I fell into the ice cold lake.On the bright side I met someone who is going to place a bait for bear for me.I should be back up there at the end of the month for more fish and hopefully a bear.
We could do with more posts like this.
Man, I love summer !!
I'd love to join you good folks Paul, I'll bring some Iowa steaks!
Keep yer fingers n toes crossed Richard !
nice!! what colors were working?
dammit my Canadian trip got cancelled again this year
Yeah, sorry for all you guys, big fella !
Sucks to miss out, for sure.
I was using pink gumball with a small blade & Joe was using a chartreuse propeller jig head.
'Bout 50/50 over both days.

thanks. heading out for pike today on the boat. I love when you get a big pike or muskie next to the boat. there are such awesome mythical fish.
wtf is that orange jiz on your virgin fillets?
Sacrilege !!!
Keep yer fingers n toes crossed Richard !
We can feed your whole gang Paul, rib steaks this time.
Went "asian" style, sweet chili sauce & rice.
With the amount of walleye, perch & crappie we consume in a season, you gots to change your game.
Even fish tacos get mildly boring !
Hope you get amongst them !
Hopefully, Richard !

Last time fishing in Canada with my brother, and his buddy from England, up in nw Ontario, I made a Thai pike curry served over jasmine rice in camp. It blew their mind. lol
keep posting Canada fishing pics and I'll keep hatin'
Actually, getting towards fall & cooler temps, we also do Thai green & yellow curries.
Great clean flavours, not like "muddled" Indian curries.
Not that I won't cook indian curries, just not with delicate things like fish/seafood.
& I gots wide shoulders, so keep diggin !
Yes. They are my favourite. Them and perch. We always have several feeds every year.
Last of the weekends walleye, more coming Sat/Sun !!
Here's me, wavin' a white flag.
Just got back from 4 days fishing at buddy’s cottage (Longcorker on here). Weather was hot and calm the first couple days so the fishing was tough, but the scotch and cigars were good.
Yesterday, the wind picked up and we did a bit better. Then overnight the temp dropped, the wind stayed up and we found a honey hole. We caught more fish today between 11 and 1 than we did the rest of the week. Had enough yesterday for a good feed at lunch and got some today to bring home.
BTW, that Cardinal 4 reel with spare spool and original box is for sale for the right price.
Paul;
Top of the morning to you sir, I hope the week's gone well, that life is tolerable and you've survived all that fantastic looking food!
Really I have nothing to add other than thanks for the food pictures. Between you and Leighton - kamo gari - with the colorful and sumptuous looking food photos, I've been enlightened, visually entertained and made hungry all at once!
Well done.
Thanks to Wannabebwana as well for the fishing photos and the more familiar looking plating of fish.
It strikes me once again that I've just had breakfast and now appear to be hungry yet again.
Have a good weekend all.
Dwayne
Thanks, Dwayne. It was a great way to burn off some Covid fever.
Here are some of the additional casualties.
Just bought a bottle of Tomatin, what did you think ?
Yes. They are my favourite. Them and perch. We always have several feeds every year.
Steve,
You mean several feeds a week, surely !
Dwayne,
Caught 2 x 12"+ yellow perch, each day last weekend, in addition to the 2 x 2 person walleye limits.
Forgot to take pics though, sorry !
Just bought a bottle of Tomatin, what did you think ?
First bottle, won't buy it again. Not very smooth and pretty bland.

BUGGER !
Cheers anyway !

My wife is not a fish eater. She doesn't even like the smell of it cooking. I can only manage about 6 or 8 meals of it a year.

Paul:
Good afternoon sir and Holy Smokes!!
I'd have to not wear a hat for days - for fear it'd get stuck on - if I caught B&C perch like that!
Thanks and congrats.
Dwayne
Nice work brother Paul. 👍
Paul;
Top of the morning to you sir!
Thanks so much for sharing the photos with us, I can't imagine a better way to spend a weekend than outside with your family, doing what you all obviously enjoy!
The only downside I can see is you're going to have to suffer through eating all those sumptuous meals.... the horror....
Seriously sir, thanks again for sharing your bit of the world with us, it's always much appreciated by me.
All the best to you all this week Paul.
Dwayne
Paul, from the bucket I'm guessing you're using minnows.
We were casting perch coloured walleye rigs, with a worm.
Yes Mate, 1/8oz minnow tipped jigs. Flick out & hop back.
Lots of hits on the drop back !
Cheers Dwayne !
One tip, ....... don't take your wife fishing from a luxury, extremely comfortable, pontoon boat !
Cheers Jud !!
Took Deb for a staycation at a local fishing lodge, for the weekend.
We had an awesome time !
Paul, do you send your wonderful pictures to your poor brother (girlfriend/spouse marooned in what was it? Oklahome or Nebraska?) I recall it was not one of the beautiful states, nor one teeming with wildlife and fish other than pheasants..
Its a bloody sure thing that you have settled in a great place, and that you won the lottery with Deb.
You are a wealthy man in all the ways that matter!
John
(still drooling at the walleye pictures -- my favourite eating fish.
Cheers John.
Blessed in many ways, for sure.
My youngest brother is in Ohio.
His crossbow deer from last season, off his own property;
Paul;
Good day to you sir, I hope you're getting the weather you need and all in your fine family are well.
Thanks again for the wonderful and colorful photos.
While I'm not the world's biggest fan of avocado, that actually looks quite good!
If you knew how much of a fan of avocado I'm not, you might be more impressed or at least surprised by that statement too.
Thanks again and have a good one.
Dwayne
Simple & delicious summer grub;
Last of last weekends walleye !
New_2_99s your evil!
My big decision for the day is which fast food
restaurant hole am I going to eat in tonight.
I have been following this for a while with more than a little envy on your catch limits and also the meal preparation.
Alberta is quite restricted on limits with slots sizes, low possession limits and tags. We finally got out yesterday to a non tag lake that you are allowed to keep 1 walleye in a 45 to 50 cm slot size. First fish was 42 cm and the next one was 49.75 cm (so dinner). 12 fish caught in total for 4 hrs on the water. All were measured and released except the one. Four were in the slot size and the rest were under. My partner kept a 46 cm. The fish I kept allowed for a nice meal for three of us with a bit of left overs for my lunch today.
I do have tags for another lake that will allow keeping two 43 to 50 cm so our fish meals are quite small.
My tummy will live through your posts. Keep the pictures coming.
Did anyone in Ontario take advantage of the free fishing weekend?
Not us, yard/garden work Sat & rain & wind for fathers day.
All licenced anyway !
Just an FYI, in Ontario, service persons - active and retired - do not need a fishing license. As well, those persons over 65 do not need one either.
Over 65
The persons described below can carry a licence, permit, certificate or identification card issued by a federal, provincial or territorial government of Canada that indicates their name and date of birth and use it as a fishing licence.
Ontario and Canadian residents who are under 18 or 65 years of age or older.
Individuals, regardless of residency, who require the direct assistance of another person to fish and to follow applicable laws due to a disability defined in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (ex. blind). If the accompanying person is only assisting, they do not require a fishing licence, but must have one if they engage in fishing.
Active or Retired Military
Finally, Ontario residents who are active members or veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces can use one of the following documents as a fishing licence:
Canadian Forces Identification Card (NDI 20)
Record of Service Card (NDI 75)
Canadian Armed Forces Veteran’s Service Card (NDI 75)

Was aware of the over 65, but not the service, non requirement !
Good deal, 10 years till free fishing !
Wonder if this applies to hunting too ?

No, just fishing.
Forgot to take hero shots !
Turned this;
into a bunch of these;
Rub in in guys!
Seeing as all we caught were walleye, I'd say you're not correct.
Rub in in guys!
No worries, Richard.

Nah, there aren't any walleyes up there!
I like perch!
Before the two fish limit on us "foreigners", I dreamed of limiting on all varieties.
That would be quite a haul.
More photos from the weekend, off Deb's phone !
The Girls;
The Guys;
Some more fish;
The gang;
The heck with Paul, I want Ms Deb for a fishing partner. Paul catches little ones and Ms Deb catches the big ones. 😉🤗👍
Thanks Tex !
Deb's a special lady, for sure !!
Save a few fer me Paul!!!!
Will do Richard !
Caroline & Nathan up, visiting for a week, from Toronto !
Still really smoky !
Grilled tequila,lime marinated walleye, mango salsa & pickled onions;
Flavor bombs !
You will have more company in a few weeks with the border opening.
Yup, we have "care package", for Paul.
Are you bringing any new tackle? Some folks are heavy into artificial baits. I like live bait myself.
Rub it in Paul!
Somebody may as well be holdin' down the pickerel population!
Are Dale and Kathy still working at Temple Bay Lodge?
Keith, we never did get out on Butler.
Are Dale and Kathy still working at Temple Bay Lodge?
Don't think so, I know most out there, but not familiar with Dale & Kathy.
Bob sold the Lodge to a conglomerate of US business men, years ago.
Jeff & Marianne Moreau manage the lodge on their behalf.
