SCI Calgary is excited to be raffling a Browning XBolt Hell’s Canyon Speed in the new exciting 6.8 Western cartridge. A versatile cartridge, as flat shooting as the 6.5 PRC, the 6.8 Western develops more energy at 1000 yards. Recoil is similar to a 7mm RM in rifles of the same weight. Mounted on the rifle is a Vortex Viper HS 4-16x50 in Talley LW rings.

Tickets are available here: https://www.sci-calgary.org/shop

Tickets are $20. 500 tickets are available. Draw date is on January 15, 2022 at the SCI Calgary Banquet. Licence #577037

What is the 6.8 Western? Short answer: Browning and Winchester took the 270WSM and shortened the case and set the shoulder back. This allowed the 6.8 Western to shoot longer, heavier (up to 175 grains) bullets without the bullet intruding into the powder chamber and still fit in a short action rifle. Even shorter answer is they Creedmoored the 270WSM.

Rifles will have faster twists than 270WSM rifles.
