Paul;
Top of the morning to you my friend, I'll dispense with my usual salutation as I'm assuming anyone who's caught that many fine meals has to be doing well!
Thanks for the photos and ice fishing report, it looks like a fantastic way to spend a couple days for sure.
All the best and God bless.
Dwayne
Save some for me Paul!
It's good somebodies havin' fun!
Nice -- very nice. A great day on the ice can be very relaxing. Looks like you have a great spot for that plus picking up a few meals.
Well done.
Hey Paul
Have you been fishing on Eagle this winter?
Kevin
It's so nice to see that. A lot of good eating. Thanks!
Morning Kevin, yes sir, only hard water I've been on !
These came from Naps rock pile.
Mmm, fresh walleye;
Just read your ice fishing thread under freshwater.
Looks like you did well.
Kevin
Ginger soy walleye & sticky coconut rice;
Little thai sweet chili sauce.
Ummm, don't recall the invite???
Maybe it was lost in cyber-space?
FYI-just for the 'eating' part
How refreshing to see something posted and TOTALLY left the current state of affairs unspoken. NICE post and congratulations on the "eyes".
Cheer LBK !!
Hope you & Nan are doing well ?

You & your lovely wife, don't need no stinkin invitation !
Joe & I got out both days, this weekend !
This thing rocks;
Joe's 21" slotter;
My 20" slotter;
Saturday limit;
Sunday limit;
'Laxing on the couch !
Spoils of war;
Enjoy the time. The season is winding down. The temperature around Orillia have been near freezing or a bit higher. It won’t be long before the ice is gone.
Be a while yet here, ice is 36" thick.
Sesame seed oil & soy marinated walleye, over rice with sauteed peppers & onions;
More meals for the freezer!
How much longer will you have the ice? Around Orillia, the temperatures have been above freezing and the lake water at Lake Couchiching is beginning to warm up.
We put the extension on the auger this weekend, so more than 38" ice snow combination !!
Lots of ice, but lots of slush, now too !
Sunday, with the extra passengers on each sled, got very "sporty", especially me, towing the sleigh !!
May have to find a spot closer to home, or wait for the ice to lift & drain the slush off.
It's always an adventure when the weather warms up.
I expect you folks will be good until April, unless we have a real long, warm spell.
Red curry walleye;
Delicious !
Killing me Smalls, you're killing me!!!!
Hey Paul, my four sons and me are going to Lake of The Woods this weekend...seeing all these "wally's" in their natural state on a plate is really making me salivate. Great pics congrats on some some good fishing.
Paul
Cheers Mate, good luck & be careful of the slush.
It's really coming up !!
This weeks temps wont help, either.
Will do! Post the results next week.
Cheers Mate, looking forward to it !
The fishing has been exceptional.
Teaser;
Mmmm, panko crumbs !
Our trip to Kenora and area was fantastic. First time in 11 years the boys and I had all been together in one spot. Weather was fantastic...the fishing...well I'll leave that one alone. Couldn't even get a blip on the finders. Pushing water up to the bumpers in some spots on the ice roads. It will be easier from the boat when the ice goes out. Hopefully!
Glad you & the boys could all get together, Mate !!
Family is everything to me/us, fish are a bonus.
Bet you had a great catch up, few libations & some great meals together.
To brutal for me, but Doug & 4 buddies decided to go after crappie on Saturday.
1 shy of a 5 guy limit + 2 bonus whitefish !
Oh, to be young again !

nice. I never thought there were crappie in Canada
its 70 degrees down here just took out the boat
ribka;
Good evening my friend, I hope the 3rd last day of March was decent to you and you're all well.
We have crappy in Osoyoos Lake here, as well as in the Okanagan River. They might be in Skaha Lake too, I'm not sure but they are definitely in Vaseux Lake or were years back last time I fished there in summer.
There used to be a municipal pond very close to our place where someone had put in bass, crappie and sunfish, but it dried up when the Regional District put in a different septic handling system and shut the pond down. I'll note because of what it was, we never ate any of the fish in that pond, but there were lots of fish in it for sure.
It was about 57° here today more or less. Warm enough to start weeding the garden and getting it ready as well as peeling the good snow tires off the pickup and putting the old ones on for the summer to burn off.
All the best.
Dwayne
Some good eating there Paul! Well done. Yes, it was a memorable time for us, and yes a couple were a little slow on Sunday morning. The guys are planning a trip to Gull Harbour, Manitoba around the middle of June.
Cheers
Paul

Ribka & Dwayne;
The crappie are not native, "
somehow" they got introduced !!
As most of our lakes are linked, via creeks, rivers etc, they are spreading pretty fast & turn up in unexpected places !
As a non native species, the MNR has granted decent bag limits - 10 most lakes & 15 in some of the bigger systems.
Anyway, they eat pretty well !
It was -23*c + wind chill when Doug was out on the weekend - hovering around +/- freezing for us at present.
Ha, ha Mate, love it !!!
Good times for sure.
Paul;
Morning sir! I see your light is on and hope all is well in your world.
We have the same thing going on here, usually with bass and yellow perch.
There's also walleye and pike coming into some lakes over closer to greydog.
The ministry here gets pretty bent out of shape over it and closes the lakes to fishing - which I don't get at all truth be told.
To me, since poison is so expensive nowadays and frankly doesn't work if there's much flow in or out of a lake, they could just open up the lake to no limit on the fish they don't want in it.
The ministry rationale for not doing that is they say if they did they would be rewarding the folks doing the illegal transplants, which isn't wrong I'll concede, but neither is shutting down fishing in a lake because of the actions of a few.
Where I go ice fishing usually, there were some huge gold fish and the yellow perch were also an illegal transplant. It's stocked with hatchery rainbows which a lot of BC lakes are.
It's been years since we went down to Osoyoos to try to catch crappie on purpose, I really should to that again as they do eat very well.
All the best my friend, have a good one.
Dwayne
Dwayne, thanks for your reply.
That sounds crazier even, than our MNR issuing different limits, for the same fish, in different lakes !
Or different "slot" sizes for the same fish, in different lakes !
Hope the family is safe & well ?
Deb had an ambulance ride to the town ER, yesterday.
Fever, sore throat, chest pain & feeling feint.
Looks like 2 years in, the beer virus may have caught us !
Hey Dwayne
As soon as they allow unvaxed to cross the border, Ill pull my boat over and try Osoyoos. Ive driven by Osooyoos dozens of times and have always wanted to try fishing it. Look like a road trip in my future. Ive caught some nice smallies in the Okanagon river and sockeye during the run.
Welcome to join me
Tom

Good afternoon my friend, I hope you're getting the warm and calm day we are up here and you're well.
For sure that sounds like a fun time sir!
Before committing to go fishing with me however, you should be warned I'm not known as a good luck talisman even remotely.
Some unkind folks have accused me of being able to stop an epic bite just by showing up.
Still, there should still be some fish left in that lake and I know a few spots where we used to throw in some lures back in the day.
The sockeye run you mentioned gets pretty busy now I hear, but some boats do fairly well too so there is that.
For sure drop me a PM and I'll send you some contact info.
All the best.
Dwayne
Paul;
Holy cow I'm sorry to read of that!!
I hope she's already on the road to a speedy recovery from whatever it is that's caught up to her.
For sure I'll remember her as well as you and the rest of Clan '99 in my prayers.
We'll be in touch.
Dwayne
Cheers Dwayne,
Just texted you back Mate !
Dang that looks tasty 99!
Ice fishing done for us now, I think !!
Still 24"+ of ice, but starting to get honeycombed & multiple slush layers.
Feed of crappie, to finish;
Panko crumbs;
Italian bread crumbs;
Man, we are so thankful to be able to utilize & enjoy our, late fall, winter & early spring !
