I just got a call from our bank in Dryden. They can't deposit a check from mail.
What do you think?

I would call the bank at the number on your account statement and inquire. I don't trust any incoming calls, most are phishing scams.

I had that thought. I'll call in the morning.

Deposit with your phone Richard. Take a pic of it.

Not often we deal with cheques anymore. If we get one, we use the mobile banking app on our phone to deposit it. No reason to go to the bank.

Yep, mobile deposit.

Just off the phone with the bank. I have to be standing in the bank to do anything. I can't wire money.
Crazy!.

I've been having bank problems for some
years now
The last 3 I've tried are devoting their energies
toward money transfer for border jumpers.
The one before this last one has every piece
of signage in ess pan yoll, no ing lace
No honkey tellers.
Not much of any place to deal with a check
received for payment of something in this
area anymore. Especially an out-of-state check.
They nearly go epileptic

I'm going to my US bank to try to get some money transferred.

Canadian banks won't take checks, only take cheques.

$60 to wire funds. Such a deal

You are transferring US dollars Internationally to a canadian bank account. Your bank in Dryden should be able to set you up with an account that's for US dollars only? We have one at RBC that we transfer Canadian dollars to, its converted to US dollars and we have a specific card that we use when making Purchases down further in the states. Heck, over in I Falls, our canadian debit cards from the bank work for purchases at Menards. Comes right out of our canadian bank account, the bank does the exchange conversion.

Yes, but cashing that cheque that's in US dollars in Canada can be a problem? No?

My outfitters don't seem to have a problem with my checks.

It's never a problem for me and as an outfitter I get lots. I use TD and as long as I have enough to cover the check it goes into my account immediately.
