A friend's father passed and she's trying to sell his firearms. Anyone have a rough idea of value on this sporterized SMLE?

Generally, No 4 sporters in good condition with decent bluing and bores sell for about $400 to $450. If used as a trade, gun shops will offer 30% less. For example, if they think they can get $400 for the rifle, they will offer $280 to $300. It would be about the same for a consignment sale.
