Anyone here fished that lake? Planning a September trip out there.
yes, biggest pike I have ever seen caught there. You staying at Cedar Point?
Badger Man, I live on (4 minutes away) & primarily fish Eagle lake !!
Which outfitter you using ?
Posted lots of pics, summer & winter, in the freshwater forum, as well as here.
September & later, is great Muskie fishing.
Walleye all year.
Will be staying at Eagle Lodge, I believe. Boats and motors provided by the Lodge, and will be kind of self guided. Good friend of mine is organizing the whole thing. Driving to Flint, Michigan to pick up his brother on the way up. With those 2, it definitely won’t be boring.

Definitely in it for the walleye. Best tasting freshwater fish for me. Wouldn’t mind hooking pike or musky too, though.
Right on, Mate, let me know if I can help, in any way !
Bunch of lodges go by that, or a variation of it.
Colegrove's Eagle Lake Lodge ?
If so, it's 4 minutes from my place & I know the owners personally !

Thanks Paul. I’ll find out more and will let you know.
If I'm in Wabigoon, maybe we can get together.
Eagle Lake ought to treat you well fish wise. I have family in Dryden area. Never had the chance to fish Eagle Lake myself. I’m a couple hours away. I drove through the Eagle lake area earlier this winter on our way to Vermillion Bay.

Sioux Lookout, or Ignace ??
So much great fishing there!

Neither. I’m straight south on the 502. Borderland area. I fish Rainy Lake.
Haha, whoops !
Forgot about South !!!!
Beautiful area.
A friend went to Eagle Lake every opening day for 15 yrs. He said there were a few days you could not catch a fish, but that was spring time. I am sure September is a very good time to go.. The walleye fishing was good, they didnt like the smallmouth cause they were nothing but bait thieves. He said very little about the northerns. If you can eat a northern and a walleye without being one sided, you likely will like the northern every bit as much ad maybe more. Walleye are a mild fish .. A northern is a little less tart and sweeter fish,,, at least where I fish them. It could be different in Canada. I fished south of there in a place called Quetico a long time ago and thought the smallmouth were as good as both.
If he could not catch 30-50 walleye a day, in spring, he was fishing the wrong part of Eagle Lake.
Spawning grounds are well know & the surrounds make for amazing fishing.
5 of us caught over 200, in a 4 hour guided trip.
I've driven to the South shore to but an outboard motor, and bought. whitefish from Hale, but never been on the lake
I'll take that back, I have fished Bear Narrows.
Bear Narrows, Osborn Bay & Boulder Bay, are some of the areas, the spring fishing is fantastic !!
Boulder Bay is not forgiving on props/bottom ends, if you don't know your way !
Paul, I busted the lower of the 20 horse on Pelican lake
No Paul, I was wrong about the lake. South, and west on 502, west of Ingall
I always wanted to get up to Andy Myer’s Lodge up there. Mainly for musky since I’ve been musky fishing all over N. Wi for a long time.
Doug & a couple of buddies, had a good day Saturday !
So, we're having fresh walleye tonight !!
Have a good trip up there. I went up that way when I lived in Minneosta, and we went out on Lake of the Woods out of Sioux Narrows, camping ono Crown Land. Did both Canoes and my Searay. Sure caught a lot of big Northerns up there, and some really big Muskies...
Fun times.
