I ordered an 85 S/S in 9.3x66 last September, they said 4-6 months, OK still waiting for that one. Ordered a Sako Finnlight in the obscure 3006 caliber 2 weeks ago, and was told it wood be along in 1-2 weeks, well now it is back ordered until who knows when. What does Sako do... one batch a year or what? Can anyone explain to me in this day and age why this stuff takes so long, are they shipping by tramp steamer then pool car accross the country?

dealing with Omenica sports in Vanderhoof, good people to deal with. traded 2 rem 700's off on the finnlight, got real good value for them there.

Ziggy used to be good at flogging my chit over the years but the rest in PG don't seem interested on dealing.

I dealt with them in Hooterville right after they took it over 5 years or so ago. They were pretty good to deal with then.Glad nuttin has changed.

I believe Stoeger Canada is the importer for Sako - I know they are for Tikkas. You might try contacting them to see what's up. Also, Epps in Orillia, Ont has a Finnlight in .30-06 in stock. They have over 30 Sako's listed on their site (nothing in 9.3x66 however)so you might want to check them out.

To bad about Ziggy's shop...The problem there was he was carring too many people and couldn't get paid up at the end.Is the impression I am under.

I like the guys at EI in PG but their prices are too high and my last stop there they were trying to sell a fairly well used model 70 xtr push feed for 1000 bucks , that about told me all i needed to know.

Yup...I use Wholesale Sports for most things now..But I picked up a used Sako Finnbear in 338 with the Sako mounts for 650 cash out the door from E&I..That was one of the best deals I've ever had.

Wow , maybe i should look more closely at their used guns , the only complaint i have with Corlanes is they dont answer their emails and they sent me a wrong gun once.

I e-mailed Stoeger again this AM, they are good at returning e-mails. E&I are expensive most of the time, never seemed interedted in dealing. Near all the guns i traded were in VG to excellant shape, I like to reload and experiment as much as hunt, for that I mostly used the whelen more often than not. The boys in Vanderhoof are about 10% high on prices but when i,m dealing this is absorbed, Len and mark need at least 100 bucks per rifle in the transaction, which is very fair IMO as they have to converse with the firearms gestapo for at least 30-40 minutes.

I think the issue is Stoeger imports them, but places orders long in advance. If the rifle you want isn't part of the original order it can take a long time. I also think the 85 in manstream calibres is selling really well.

I think the issue is more with who you ordered it from or who thier supplier is. What you will not get told is that they do not want to ship just one gun they want it to be included in a larger order to increase thier order size and decrease the shipping cost and this goes all the way down the supply chain, importer wholesaler ect. And a small store really has no pull in altering this. P&D in Edmonton seem to have a lot of Sako's and Tikka's in stock on a regular basis.

I agree E&I is too high but i had heard from trap shooters in PG. that if you hit them when they wanted to move something they could match Wholesale sports. Being some what skepical in nature I just forgot about it,then one day when I was in PG. I stopped by to get a box of bullets and saw a Rem 700 Sendero in the rack in 300 SAUM, exactly what I was looking for! I handed it back after looking at it when the sales man ask if I was serious about wanting one and when I said yes He dropped the price 300.00 on the spot, and it shoots great. I guess my point is it never hurts to make an offer.

Yes - Stoeger is the importer for Sako in Canada. If you do an online search you should be able to come up with a 1-800 number. Good luck.

Just found a phone number for them 905-436-9077 in Whitby.

I deal wiht OSFS almost exclusively these days..Prices are just a teeny bit higher than Wholesale Sports or Rusels, but at least when I call, I know right away what they have and what they can get...

BTW, they got my 375 Ruger Alaskan for me prior to just about anyone in Canada getting one...I have a friend that works for several hunitng magazines, and when I showed him my rifle, he couldn't believe I had one, and had already killed a bear wiht it!! smile

OSFS is my "go to" supplier for most stuff, these days.Helps that a friend works there, but they simply have great service, regardless....
