Has the day changed over the years?

It seems like to that it has.

As far as I can remember, (I'm 71) it has always been the day after Christmas.

I should have made myself more clear.

It seems that the stores were all shut down on day twenty some years ago, now they run sales on the day.

wabigoon;
Good morning to you sir, I trust this finds you and your fine family doing well and keeping warm.

We've certainly seen an escalation of both the Black Friday type of sales as well as the Boxing Day sales over the last couple of decades.

I will say that they're getting a bit more smart about it nowadays in that the sales go on for a week typically, so it lessens the stampede mentality that comes with a "one day" event.

While part of me misses the simpler times, another practical side doesn't mind getting 20% off Carhartt bibs at our local purveyor of work wear.

Anyway sir, Happy New Year to you folks and all the best in 2016.

or is it where you throw all your stuff in boxes and take it back to the store????
