A Happy Canuck Thanksgiving to all the good folks north of the medicine line!

How do you celebrate the day?

Having the kids and their families over for dinner. Got a big (29 lb) turkey that I will stuff and cook, along with homemade cranberry sauce and the usual trimmings. We will send leftovers home with the kids, and keep some for turkey sandwiches too!
First time in many years that we have a chance to have both kids over for thanksgiving dinner, going to be a memorable occasion for sure.

I'm working 12s for the next month with Saturdays off so did our family thing yesterday.

Spent the morning bird hunting and then had Thanksgiving dinner. We have much to give thanks for.

wabigoon;
Good afternoon sir and Happy Canuck Thanksgiving to you since you're an honorary one and all.

This is the first time in at least 30 years that it's just my wife and I for Thanksgiving as our eldest daughter and her husband are in Montreal for a friend's wedding and our youngest is working at her part time job while she's attending the University of Victoria. Both of our Moms are in care facilities and at a point where we can't transport them any longer, so we visited both of them today, but it's just us for Thanksgiving Dinner.

This morning, I took a quick trip into a little pocket on the mountain behind the house that's produced at least a dozen mulie bucks for us over the years, but all I saw was an overstuffed black bear and though I'm packing a tag, there's no way I was going to be packing him out of that particular spot. Deer are bad enough....

Anyway sir, like as not I'll get up before the chickens tomorrow morning too and drive further up the mountain to see if I can intersept any early migrating mulie bucks or even a resident whitetail buck. Failing that, I'll take my rifle for a walk in some gorgeous country, so all in all that's not a bad way to spend a weekend.

All the best to you and yours wabigoon and Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian 'Fire brethren - and of course those who want to celebrate with us as well.

Dwayne

It was a beauty day for sure. I love October.. smile

That's an SKB M100 in 20ga. Originally the 28" bbl were choked F/M, but the previous owner had it reamed to IC/M. Great field gun but I wish it had double triggers.
