Happy Holidays to you all up there in Saskatchewan!

I was just wondering how the populations of your Hungarian partridge are doing this fall and early winter? I used to drive up for several years in a row and stay and hunt in the western area of the Province. Met some great folks and stayed @ a ranch house.

It's been a few years since I've been up since the populations really went down - as did the limits on them, which I understood. I would truly love to come back up next fall, if they are finally on the rebound. I had talked to a wildlife biologist several years back who told me the birds would take a few more years to come back, due to the harsh winters at the time.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I only just noticed your post, sorry for the slow reply. Huns are recovering, but not to the numbers they once were. I would guess they are back up to about half the numbers they were 8-10 years ago. A couple of bad winters back then really did hammer them. Your Britts should get enough bird contact to keep it interesting, I'd suggest staying fairly close to the USA border though, north of #1 highway they aren't doing as well.

Saskatchewan has a lot of great hun territory and have hunted huns and waterfowl up there

Hit the high line in Montana as a back- up

Lots of great hun habitat in the north section of Montana. Numbers were decent in most sections in 17
