I am referring to collet dies, trim dies, crimp dies, mandrels, bullet molds, or other non-production items custom made for you by Lee. Over the years, I have ordered various custom collet and crimp dies for 6x45mm, 225 Win, 30-303 and 303 Epps. How about you? Undersized mandrels in various cals and more.

I expect the US members here have done it quite a lot. How about the Canadians? Are you even aware that they offer custom services?

I am getting a 22 Hornet collet die modified to 22 K Hornet. The cost is $30 USD plus mailing. All of their custom services are reasonably priced.

That's new to me and I' quite a ways south of you. I had no idea they did that.
I have had a half dozen collet dies made over the years, I always buy a .002 smaller mandrel when I do.

I suppose this goes for any die, not just special order, but make sure you completely clean your new die before its first use. And give it a good inspection whenever you use it.

This was some of the crud, including a metal filing that came out of a custom made 30-303 crimp die. Residue and preservative is on every die, custom or not. Clean them regularly.

And that applies to all manufcturers dies.

The 22 Hornet die goes out tomorrow morning in the mail. I will probably order a 225 collet die shortly.
In addition to the 22 Hornet to K Hornet rework, I have also ordered another 6x45mm collet die. I expect I will have them by early June.
I use to be on their mailing list for "left over" items or canceled orders. Often a lot of useful stuff.
Lee still has listings for that. I don't know if they still email these out anymore. At any rate, here is the closeout page. Another good source for some equipment. Need an extra press? a spare scale? Got a friend or a kid that's just starting out?

If you wish to snoop around and pick up Lee products cheaper than buying direct, Titan Reloading sells their stuff and other brands. The nice thing about dealing with Titan, is they ship to Canada, and their shipping rate is reasonable. I am happy with the service I get from Dennis and Robin - and Lee too. Both businesses are in Hartford, WI, so if you have any problems with your purchase, they are handled quickly.

You may remember my 8x57 collet die order from a couple of months ago. I got a FL resizing set in a collet die box. I contacted Dennis and he asked Lee to ship one out to me. Problem solved. And I have an 8x57mm set to give to someone who needs it.

I have a Lee Custom 270 Weatherby Collet Die. Not one moment of difficulty using it.

Yeah, collet dies are a well thought out product. Lee has a few crappy products, but all the companies do.

I think I am going to get a 225 Win collet die and run it against a Hornady neck sizing die and a Lee loader. But I have 4 more 30-303 loads to shoot. Gotta finish the book.
I sent in two orders in the last week of April. Order one was a rework of my 22 Hornet collet die to 22 K-Hornet. The second was another 6x45mm collet die. This morning I received an email telling me that they have been shipped. 6 weeks to get both done. I'm happy.
