These are made just outside of Montreal. The cores are swaged, with 0.008 inch plating applied. Even though they are plated, the thickness is enough that standard reloading data can be used. That's the theory anyways. Until I get the MGM barrel, the fastest twist I have is 1 in 9. For fur or plinking, the cost makes them an attractive option.

Looking to hear from anyone who has tried them. They are $60/500 or $120/1000. I picked up 500 to try.

The handgun bullets are electroplated. The FMJ bullets - 223 and 308 diameters - are made like conventional FMJ military contract bullets. That is,

In FMJ projectiles, the coating is made from a copper strip by a punching and drawing process. The base of the projectile is not covered with copper: the lead is visible to the naked eye.

This explains why they can be loaded using the jacketed bullet data, unlike other companies, like Berrys, that electroplate their lead.

The 180 gr RN for the 303 British is on my list to try sometime this year. I hope they expand their rifle line up to include other calibre's such as the 6.5 mm, 277 and 35 cal for the other rifles in the house

Looking at the one showing the bottom, makes me wonder. If you loaded them backwards would they expand.

That's a good question. It would leave a large wound though, with a wide meplat like that. I am sure that there would be some mushrooming.

BC would be pretty poor though...

I bought a box of 500 and shot them through my Ruger AR556 (1-8 twist), i found that they shot a little bit better than the American Eagle and Remington bulk 223 ammo that I've tried. I just bought a box of 500 Berry's 223 bullets yesterday, I plan on comparing the two. For just plinking bullets, the Canpro seems like a pretty good bargain. For an entry level AR rifle, they seem to shoot pretty good.

It's fun to compare bullets like that. Sometimes, I'll take bullets like that and have my own accuracy contest. Work up the most accurate load for each bullet and have a shoot off. It keeps you shooting, and it doesn't matter what you use. All trigger time is good. Have fun!
