Hello folks:

I was lucky enough to FINALLY obtain a Remington 700 Classic this Fall in 7x57. I reload for most of my rifles, and happened to also acquire a large number of (500) .284 (7mm) Federal Fusion 150 grain bullets. I was curious if anyone has had any experience reloading with Federal components, specifically bullets. These are 150 grain soft point boat tails with cannelure, perfect for my quarry of whitetail and black bear here in NH. Thank you in advance for any input,

Rich

I'm curious about your experience. Just before the shortage, I was able to pick up 1k of what I believe to be fusions in 30 caliber. That's likely to be the only bullet for my '06 for a while.

I’d just work up the load with a chronograph, same as any other bullet of the given weight. I bought some Fusion component bullets last year for a 7mm08 and found good accuracy. Powder charges and velocity lined up well enough with published 140gr data from Hodgdon.

I think the Fusion and the Interlock are two great options when looking at economical choices in a big game bullet to be pushed at speeds under 3,000fps or so. Many rifles will shoot them well enough.

Fusions are good hunting bullets, Dad killed boatloads of game using them for decades
