Started loading 6.5x55 today and was fighting the dispenser...I’m thinking what a pita. I’m getting overcharges every time...urrgh!

So, I google this. Some guy complaining about fine tuning....I’m thinking not according to my manual.

So, I look up the manual online and it shows you how to really dial this thing in...wow! I’m getting it to throw charges super quick now. Definitely worth looking into. It has changed my thinking about this thing. It can really be dialed in now that they are sharing the instructions.


The key is to dial it in to throw about 0.5 gr low and trickle slow so the scale can catch up to the dispensing....i had to set the dispense target to -2.0 gr to get this right.

LOL, I haven’t trickled a charge of anything in 20 years. Still use a 1st gen. Hornady measure and a uni-flow. My Redding and RCBS tricklers make great paper weights.

I think you are misunderstanding me....I’m talking about optimizing the settings on the Hornady Dispenser...

No I understood exactly. Never found the need to upgrade to something with a 1 year guarantee.

I had a Hornady for awhile. Was never so mad and then glad when it quit working. I never could get it throw correct charges. Much happier with the Lyman I have now. I did set mine lower than wanted charge weights, but it didn't seem to help the original model.
