We go back in two weeks to pick one. Here are two favorites.

[Linked Image]
What the heck,

when you go back,

take two and call me in the morning!

those two look like suitable candidates.

Geno

PS How old are they in that pic? somehow, they don't seem like they'll be small labs to me.
6 weeks. We're super excited. It's been a rough patch since loosing Joe.
The one on the left is the biggest one and a bruiser with her litter mates. The one on the right is just a tic smaller and the most chill.
Jeeezzz, don't show that to my wife.

It's amazing how different they all are. My first lab was laid back and hardly ever barked. He was a great dog. The one we have now is completely opposite. He's a great dog, but he's wound up tight and barks at me over everything. If he could talk, maybe he wouldn't bark so much. Nice as can be, just energetic.
Joey said to get the one on the left.
My wife likes the one on the left. These were bred for intelligence and high energy so the one on the right might be a good hedge.

I stand by my words earlier........................... get them both! laugh

They will balance each other out,

the mellow one will provide an example to her sister of how to act around the house.

the rambunctious one will get her sister off the couch and out in the yard to learn hunting skills! (or just for play even)

Have fun whichever way you go, they both look wonderful and I'm jealous.

Geno

PS, have to agree, don't show that to my wife ME again, I may be running to the nearest breeder with good pups. shocked
I jokinly said I'd take them all. We only get one, one at a time, so they'll imprint on us rather than each other, that and there aren't enough to go around.
I like the runt of the litter. Are both shown Females? If they are I like the one on the right. Bob
Both females
The runt of this litter is a fire cracker! She's non stop go! She's a sweetie!
Here's the runt on top of her brother, who fell asleep with his face in my palm.

Nice looking pups. What's the breeding?
Take the runt!
They come out of two well established New England hunting lines.
Great looking pups. If you don't mind where in New England are they from?
The breeder is in S. ME.
I would discourage getting both. My last pair were brother and sister from the same litter. Both were good dogs, but never got the training together than they would have gotten separately. They also ran as their own pack when together, hunted differently when apart (better). They are cute at that age but I do remember leaving them in the yard one day and they ate the wooden garden furniture set. All 5 pieces.

Both dead for a few years now.

very cute pop, great life span.
I'm sure ol Joe would approve....have fun and watch your shoes.

Two weeks ago, I dreamt of Joe three nights in a row. It was as if he was telling me it was ok.
Are you picking the pup, or is the breeder picking it for you, based on your needs and expectations?
We picked the pup with input from the breeder.
Supercrewd, Your black female had a great face! Is it time for another dog?
I found another.

Smiling here!
Which one did you pick??
The one on the left, Miss Purple. She had a purple collar. We've named her "Dot".

Dot's in good hands! wink

Geno
Thanks guys!

I'd describe the last few days as periods of overwhelming restfulness, punctuated by intense mischief. laugh

Heaven in my lap.

She's 20 weeks old today.

She is getting better looking by the week.
Thanks Battue! She's such a sweetheart.

Monday she lost her fist incisor, Wednesday the second.
[Linked Image]
She's a bit leggy today.

Her looks make me willing to bet she is all about her people. She's a winner. wink
I hate dogs but that is a beautiful lab you have there.

P.
Lately, she's spending her free time stalking insects and perfecting her ant pounce. She always eats what she kills, typically garnished with dirt and gravel.
Missed this.

Very nice looking hound.
Thanks Slave, she's a one!

If everyone hated dogs as much as you, the world would be a better place... On a serious note, from 8 weeks on, I've been showing her your picture right before she takes a dump. I can't wait for you two to meet.

Holy Crap! If I didn't have to re-learn how to post images, I could put up a pic that would be an exact twin to that one, minus the red shirt. I got it from the breeder after I picked out my female. She's 12 1/2 now. Enjoy!

Labs are great dogs and become members of the family in no time!
Dot and Pep on the N.Shore.

Send it to me. I'll post it. Alternatively, check out postimage.org, it's super straight forward and intuitive.

Remember what they say Brian, to train a dog, first you need to be smarter than the dog. My downfall.
Either you train them or they train you!
She is a beauty!!! I have an 11 year old black as well, just wonderful dogs!! Nothing but labs for me.

Keep up up to speed on how she progresses
Great looking pup Kingston. Our chocolate turns 13 in a month. Still acts and looks like he's 5 except for the gray patch under his nose.

Beautiful dogs!!!
The puppy test has scored rock solid for our last two chocolate labs.
You can google it.

I look for a lab that is not too Alpha and not too Passive, right in the middle.
They make the best retrievers.

We have two Choc labs both from the same breeder. These two are great sisters. One is 11 years old and a retired hunter. The young one is now 1 year old and retrieving like a champ. Time for real ducks in November.
They grow out of puppy stage way too fast!
