What are the front sling options for my win 71. Its a std grade, early 50's , reblued, stock refinished. Previous owner drilled a hole in the forearm and ground the machine screw down to two threads left and glued" it in. Didn't take long to pop out at the most unfortunate time. Would like to replace the white cotton rope tied around the bbl.

The standard grade 71 did not come with sling swivels. You could install the hardware used on the deluxe model. Or, many have a screw in swivel in the buttstock. The front swivel can be done several ways. A swivel that clamps on the magazine tube might be easiest.

Or a deluxe forend cap would probably look best

Found a set of Uncle Mikes for a 20ga shotgun looks like it will work just fine. Have not bounced it all over the mountain yet, but seems pretty solid.
