I've been looking for years for a decent one.
Went to a gunshow and snagged it while he was still setting up!
A guy was behind me waiting for me to put it down the whole time I was examining it. Damn near breathing on my neck!
Beautiful 3X wood and fine Damascus. All original with a decent bore that cleaned up pretty well.
About an hour after I bought it the guy that was behind me asks me if I'd like to double my money on it!!
No sir! It's going in my collection!
Now to find the 10ga.........
I'll post pictures if I can ever figure out how!
They are such cool guns! Browning was such a genius!
I have an almost mint 1901 10ga that my Dad bought in the 50's for $60.00! And an old rough 1887 12ga that I'll now sell!

Figure it out, we need pictures!!
WOW! Would love to see the pics!
Damn!!! That sounds awesome! Pics! Pics! Pics! Man!! Donโ€™t see those every day!!!

Love the Damascus Barrel!
Thanks for posting!
I pulled the butt stock and the tang is stamped XXX.
I've seen a few Deluxe for sale on line over the years(never in person!) but they appeared considerably nicer or restored and $10,000.00 plus!
Thanks again Kaywoodie
That is very nice, another one that I never see. Congratulations on your score.

06hunter59,
I was really enjoying your pics, on the Winchester Deluxe Model 1887, which caused me to dig a little further into some,
of my Research Books, if you will.
In Ron Stadt's Book published in 1995, he states that a total of 64,771 serial #'s were recorded,
With a total mfg. # @64,855,MFG., according to The Blue Book publications.
A John Moses Browning design, patent sold to Winchester,
as you are probably aware of!
In looking at your pics I did notice a border engraving on the side panel, on both sides, of the Receiver.
Being an "Engraved Gun", in Stat's book he states that only 5 model 1887's were Engraved!
If it were me, I would Contact Winchester,(Cody Museum), and see if a Letter could be produced!
As you know the Deluxe's are very desirable in any Model!
I was Curious as to what the barrel length was, and the serial # !
Serial # 1 was a Deluxe Rifle!
630 (yours) Had Selected Walnut Stocks, as 110 had English Walnut Stocks!
Barrel Lengths vary, from 12 inches to 37 inches.
Uncommon Barrel length, could add to the value!
It would be interesting to see what the Winchester experts on the WACA Site think! JMO!
Once again Congrats on a great Find!

I don't see any current Surveys for the Model 1887 on the WACA Forum!
