Can someone ID this Winchester model 70? I'm thinking it's an XTR,....anyone?

Judging by the cap on the rear of the Striker (Firing Pin Assembly) and the black tip I will say a post 64 Win 70 circa 1972/1973.

That would be pre XTR. It is a good gun.

I’m going to agree that it’s a pre XTR, can’t help more than that, sorry. Nice rifle. A lot of those PF M70’s are shooters!

Your rifle was Made in 1977, I think the xtr hit the scene in 78.
