Local shop has a second model 1890 in 22 long with casehardened receiver and matted octagon barrel
Can barely make out traces of case colors
Stock in in rough shape
Its been very well used
Serial number in 16000 range. 1892 manufacturer
They are asking $550 for it.
Is this something i should jump on?

16000 is a very early 2nd. If there are any colors on the frame, it's a very good deal. Even lower condition 2nd, I see priced in the $900 range. But low condition guns can be quite slow if you go to resell.

Thanks levers. Ill try to get some pics on Tuesday. The 1890 is not in my wheelhouse as far as collecting goes. The stock is missing material around to top corners where the tang meets the frame. I’ll probably just let it go to someone else.
