Picked this one up at a gun show today. Winchester model 70 XTR featherweight chambered in 6mm rem. All I can find out about it is it was only made one year, 1995. Anyone have any other info like how many were made and what it might be worth? I know condition really matters and this one is really nice with just a couple of light handling marks. Let's call it 95 percent with no box. I own several of these already but had never seen a 6mm.

If it was made in '95, then it is not an "XTR". Sounds like a great rifle though. Great cartridge. Pics would be cool.
I’ve seen a handful. All that I’ve seen had sn corresponding to ~’92 - but I have seen that 1995 reference. I believe it is erroneous.

They aren’t common. A mint example went for about 2k a while back.

What’s the first 3 of your serial? G208 ish is what I’ve seen. And they have fw in script; and aren’t labeled xtr on the left.
You are right, it doesn't say XTR. Has Featherweight in script on the right side of the barrel. Serial number G206 range.

I have the 94 and 95 catalogs, 94 listed pushfeed featherweight but no 6mm was offered, by 95 the pushfeed featherweights were dropped.

John, what years were the 6mm offered? '92? A 6mm featherweight would be pretty cool. I save a die set just incase I run across just the right 6mm rem. OP's rifle is pretty nice I bet. Love these XTR style fwt rifles.

Not cataloged in ‘92 - I checked.

Lawrence my catalogs only go back to 94. I need to get 88-93 catalogs.
Man, that’s a cool score. Never seen one of them.

Thanks buddy. I was at a LGS the other day and saw an XTR FWT similar to my 22-250, but they wanted $1,500.00 for it!!! I'd love to see pics of the OP's 6mm. The '89 post XTR FWT 30-06 that I saw at a shop here, sold rather quickly, which surprises the hell out of me. I'm thinking if I could find a good deal on a 257, 7x57 or 6mm, I'd snag it.

Definitely would snag one if I could find I nice one in 257 or 7x57
interesting never knew Winchester made rifles in 6MM, looking forward to pictures
Here are some pics. I have owned about every caliber of these rifles but had never seen a 6mm. I have a 257 and 7x57 put away, this one is probably going to keep them company.

I have some of those in a box.... somewhere... as I revamp the house from my wife's big move 5 years ago now, if I come across them and a bunch of 80s and 90s Winchester catalogs, I'll send you a PM on them. I'd just be passing them on to a '" good home".

any LA Featherweight can be rebarreled, and then ya have a 6mm Rem Featherweight.

I have an XTR Long Action featherweight with the factory laminate stock. When I got it, it had a 30/06 barrel on it., that was shot out. I got to know the former owner, and he told me when he sold it to the gun shop I bought it from, it was the 5th 06 barrel on it... It was new from the factory with an 06 barrel...

He was delighted, I have put a 6.5 x 55 barrel on it instead.

Another Model 70 LA, I put a 6.5 x 57 barrel on it, after dealing with some of the issues of a pushfeed 473 bolt face, with a lot of 6.5 x 55 brass. However Remington brass used a 473 bolt face on theirs...

6.5 x 57 is my favorite cartridge, followed by a 6mm Rem on a Long Action and fast twist ( which I have on a Model 700 LA), and then my 7 x 57 Model 70 Featherweight. A Roberts never came my way, with a price I thought it was worth...found some, but the seller wanted a gold mine for it, just due to the supposed rarity of it... If I wanted one that bad, an aftermarket barrel would have solved that problem for a lot less money.
