I have a Win. M70 conn. manufactured Custom Shop Gun in .300 Win. Mag. Beautiful walnut, bases and rings. Unfired. There is none on the market currently with it’s specs. A few years ago, they were selling in the $4,500-5,500 range. Any guesses to today’s fair market value.

Pretty hard to say without pictures. Custom shop produced a wide spectrum of rifles. I’ve seen very few in that neighborhood, however.

The last one I saw was a chambered in 338wm and beautifully engraved. Probably a detriment, but it was $3,500.00. I still wished I would have bought it.

Not sure how helpful we were, but if you give us some more specifics - or even better, pictures - we might actually be able to assist. Are we talking about one of the early supergrades out of the custom shop from the late eighties/early nineties? Or a full on engraved ultimate classic from the later nineties? Or?

I believe early 90’s. Has the CSG stamp on top of the barrel near the receiver. When Win. Closed their Conn. factory many of the records disappeared. Don’t know exact year of manufacture. Serial # G1042. It is from my hunting partner’s estate. He passed away four months ago and am helping his widow liquidate his collection.

Sorry to hear of your friends passing. Good on you for helping his widow.

Very nice gun. Agreed late 80s/early 90s; upgraded wood; smooth bolt, stamp and corresponding sn. If attempting to maximize return I’d see if she can find the CS letter; it will be in a plain envelope with the gun’s sn on the front. Does the floorplate read “super grade”?

Also helps that it’s 300 wm; probably the most desirable of the three common magnum chamberings you frequently see.

Thank you. Yes the floor plate has the Super Grade writing on it.

Pretty cool 4 digit classic. I'm thinking '89-90 for DOM. I wish I could help with value, but you don't see them like this one very often. That is a very nice rifle though.. I'd be thinking about where would be the best place to sell such a rifle. Maybe gunsinternational, or maybe even gunbroker??

Whitish tan box or red box?

MLF, that is a beautiful rifle.

I think the reason no one is willing to give you a number is your initial estimate of the rifle's worth is high, particularly in the current market.

No one wants to insult you with a number.
