I came across a Win mod 70 Laredo 7 STW Boss, Im tuning up using federal 160 gr accubond ammo. Question being does anyone have the BOSS chart for the Laredo in 7STW? very best
Cut that BOSS off and you'll have one nice long range rifle.

A lot of hate for the BOSS system. I have it on my .30-06 Stainless Classic. Ugly damn lump on the end of the barrel, BUT it shoots so well I don't want to touch it (I even have a factory new non-BOSS barrel for it). I have the "sweet spot" chart that came with my rifle and it lists the Laredo but only in 7mm Rem Mag and 300 Win Mag. The starting point settings for the 7mm RM are: 140 grain = 9.5 150 grain = .06 and 165 grain = 1.8
Might be a place to start.
To each his own on the BOSS love -hate, Ive owned as many as 5 and was able to out shoot a GAP 308 with my 30-06 classic 4 out of 5 , 5 shot groups at 1 and 200 yards, He was using handloads and I was using Federal gold metal match 175 gr fodder that I had tinkered enough with that it was an absolute hummer, only work done was a trigger job buy me! I can still find the 168 gr FGMM but am unable to find the 175 gr fodder any more. It shoots Fed prem 165 gr BT's as well, I have a Super grade 300 win mag that is just as deadly with the Fed 190 gr SMK match loads. SO the dog dick on the end does not bother me at all,School is still out on the Laredo 7STW but I was on the 3 inch orange stick on in three shots after pulling bolt and bore sighting the od way at 100 using Rem 140 gr ammo. I will post pix when tinkering is done, plan to make it my 500 yard hammer. very best
I was fortunate enough to spend some quality time with the chief engineer of the BOSS system , wealth of knowledge and he shot 30,000 round in a tunnel with German glass we can dream of, 1/4 inch groups with Winchester hammer forged barrels and factory ammo produced 1/4 inch groups routinely. His best group was .0029 with a box gun mod 70 and factory ammo. I spoke with him yesterday about this 7STW, I am just trying to save this high dollar ammo and my pristine barrel. This gent is long retired and has no dog in the game other than very fond memory's of a theory that proved itself many times over. I shoot both the brake and conventional version on my own range so I could give a F about noise as I poke ear plugs in. very best, pixs will follow when I get her wired in...
One day those boss equiped rifles will be worth alot of money winchester only made them for 2yrs. 30yrs from now some guy in a gunshop will say yep this has been bubba fide
Didn't mean to imply I hate the BOSS, just consider it ugly....kinda like my dogs. But "ugly is as ugly does". I got my left hand Stainless Classic for my father to use on an Elk/Mule deer hunt I took him on 13 years ago. He was 83 at the time and liked the fact it had a brake. I bought a large quantity of Federal High Energy loads with the 180gr Woodliegh Weldcore and 165gr Trophy Bonded Bear Claw for less than $10 a box when Jerrys Sports Center closed them out that year. Out of the box the rifle shoots better than I can hold and sighted in with the 180 Woodlieghs, the 165 Bear Claws print 1 1/2" higher at 100yds. Never fiddled with the BOSS, it's still set as it came out of the box. It's never shifted POI since I sighted it in for that hunt. I'll probably never install the other barrel but figure it'll make a more atractive package if I ever sell the rifle.
I had a Laredo in 7mm rem mag with boss and loved the rifle but hated the noise. I never acquired one of the conventional recoil units and ended up selling the rifle. Having said that the technology is sound but it's kind of like a model 12 with a Cutts compensator on the barrel.

As to the op this is the only info I could find.

Thanks T Mitch, I understand they did not produce many Laredo's in 7STW and even less BOSS guns. I will get her tuned out as this is my 5th BOSS mod 70, the dog dam bullets sure were cheaper and I was less worried over barrel burn out.. LOL A fellow is living good when he burns barrels. very best
Does anyone know what the factory twist on the 7STW is? very best
I believe it's 9 twist. I could be wrong though. I have a take off Winchester model 70 7mm stw barrel without the boss if you are interested
Thanks win 7stw, Im a long way from burnout and would go another route when it came barrel change time,Im a BOSS guy and would probably have it put on a custom when time came. very best
