My dad has a Model 12, 20 gauge. The SN is 27143. It dates to 1912/13. The gun is in excellent condition. Im still trying to figure out how to post pictures, i really want to show this one off. Is there a ball park figure on what they are going for nowadays? I know its hard to determine w/o photos, but they will posted eventually.......

Thanks......

Welcome to the 'fire. I am not a Model 12 expert by any means, I have a 16 ga. I bought last year in the shop getting looked at for a feeding issue. I am in to mine for $250 and a day's drive but it is not by any means excellent condition, but I love the fit and pointability of the gun.

Model 12 Winchesters vary in price a lot.I was lucky and picked up a Super Field Grade 1947 model 12 12 gauge for $380.00.These usually go for about a $1000.00.The smaller gauges sometimes fetch a better price. It really depends on the condition and how many were made that production year.See Gunbroker link to get an idea about what they go for.

You have an early production model,so it should be worth a good price.

I have one close to yours 2540X 25in full choke in nice 65% original condition. the ones I'v examined range from ready for remelt to nicely/poorly redone to factory pristine...mine would cost you 650/or so if I wanted to sell, but I don't.....there are so many things that can affect the value of these early model 1912/12 shotguns....that without good full length and close up pictures its pretty much impossible to access its value...

I have a 20ga model 12 sn 11538. It is about 85% and I paid around $800 for it a few years ago if I remember correctly. I am still happy with that price

I may have let my affection for the gun overstate it's condition. It's probably 65% in reality
