I found a Winchester Super-X 2 Lite for sale a couple of years ago and I snagged it. I've used it for two dove seasons and like it very much. I've found some stuff on the net about the Super-X 2, but I never see anything on the "Lite" version. Is there anything special about it in terms of production numbers? I've been curious about it for a while, but never think about when I'm in here because I don't think about shotguns much. wink

Old post. Still wondering about this. Maybe someone knows something.

What chamber length?

IIRC, it has a different gas piston, designed to shoot loads lighter than 1 1/8oz, it should have 1 row of vent ports

Stamped on the barrel is "WINCHESTER 12 GA-2-3/4 & 3" INVECTOR PLUS CHOKE SUPER X MODEL 2." In small letters, "MFG BY FN-BELGIUM. IMPORTED BY R.A. CO, ARNOLD, MO."

The muzzle is not ported. When I acquired it four or five years ago, I looked into gas pistons for it. I don't remember what all I looked at back then, but I concluded that it would function with pretty much anything I feed it. It does fine with regular 2-3/4" dove loads. I like the gun very much.

Do you have a picture of it?

Here is the Winchester description:

Quote
SX2 Light platform with new lightweight barrel profile, reduced weight aluminum magazine tube, new weight reducing components in the recoil spring mechanism and a light rib design. All this contributes to its extraordinary 6 1/2 lbs. total weight

Question: do you happen to have a nephew named Jason, sometimes called Chandler?
