What is a 6 digit stainless in 300 WSM worth? Synthetic stock. Looks just like my stainless classic but I don't think they were still called that by the time the WSM cartridge came on the scene. Any help appreciated.

I usually look to completed auctions on gun broker as a rough guide, with the caveat that I’m always a little dubious of listings out of Elizabethton, Tennessee.
As a six digit it should be a late 2001 (the first year cataloged) or 2002 gun. Serial range should be roughly G350000 - G380000. I've seen a few six digit 300 WSM's, but never the 270 WSM or 7 WSM – they have always been seven digits, which corresponds with their introduction timeline. All were still cataloged as classic stainless, but it wasn’t stamped on the right side of the barrel as the earlier 5 and 6 digit guns were.
With regard to value - if I was buying one, I would be hard pressed to pay much more than $600. There always seem to be quite a few on gun broker – you can look at all the auctions in the $600-$800 range with no bids.

Serial range G350000-380000

Otherwise, spot on.

Thanks for that, I've fixed it. Had just gotten back from a run in the mountains when I posted and clearly my brain was fatigued. Appreciate it.

To the OP - if you were asking because of the one posted over on LRH and you bought it, congrats. That was certainly priced right.
