An old refinished supergrade 257. It's not perfect and it is a definite shooter, but the price was agreeable. I have wanted a supergrade 257 but never at the prices they required. This one though limited in any collector value was quite affordable and is all in all a decently done refinish. It has the wood repair where there used to be a side scope mount and the holes in the action are repaired where the mount was mounted.

Looks like a great rifle that can be utilized for it's designed purpose....handling, shooting and enjoying a quality built rifle with a touch of class. Congrats

What a sweet deer rifle.
When I was a kid, my neighbor, a gentile kind gentleman (Marine) hunted with a Super Grade. He used it as it was meant to be used. Enjoy your rifle.
Very nice. A .257 Roberts pre 64 is definitely on my want list.
That is a nice rifle! Are you going to scope it up and if you are is the rear bridge drilled?
It's already not a collector and been drilled for a side mount and repaired so I will probably stick a scope on eventually.
Very nice, thanks for sharing the pictures...enjoy
A Super Grade you can use without too much worry. Cool!

Years ago, my local Cabela's had a Super Grade .270 with a side mount, I believe Griffin and Howe. But they wanted too much for it. Knowing what I know now about Cabela's, I should have made them a "more correct" offer. They might have gone for it. I don't remember for sure, but I don't think I did that.
Beautiful rifle and I bet its a shooter to! Wish I could fall into a bunch of Super Grades. Very scarce and you picked up a pile in a week!!!

Looks nice!
Took em to the indoor gun range over lunch. The M71 grouped well at 50 yds.

The 257 was minute of kill, but I think it can do better. It may prefer something smaller than 117 grain or possibly it would prefer non +P ammo.

Anyway the m71 target is below.

I have a standard grade 1947 .257 Roberts and it's accuracy is well below MOA with 110 gr Accubonds and 100 Gr TTSX. Sounds like you don't reload but you can get the Accubond factory loaded from Nosler. You might be very surprised.

I just bought this ammo for mine, but haven't had the time to try it out.
