That gun doesn't mess around buddy.. wink . I think if a guy knows how to shoot a magnum properly, you might as well use it.. This one is a beautiful rifle because it weighs in at 7 pounds (bare rifle) and holds 4 plus 1. Only need 1 shot though, so that is a moot point... wink Oh yeah, the guy above that is humping that deer in the pic above knows all about shooting magnums as well. I grew up like him and shot the chit out of truckloads of jackrabbits with everything from 22 pistols to 338wm and slugs in a 12 gauge.. A lot of guys here have never had that type of experience when it comes to shooting running game with a big centerfire rifle. There's no other expereince like it in the world, except for maybe in hungary where they are shooting running hogs with their 8mm's... Read some of JOC and he will also tell you the same thing...

Happy birthday Scotty. Good job on that cow. Should be some good eating there.. Looks like the mashburn dropped her right in her tracks..
Thanks fellas!

BSA, the Mashburn is a winner in my book.. I would have to think about the number of elk I have taken with the cartridge but it has been easy to work with and Bob's advice was golden..

Oh, and the 270 still wacks the heck outta bucks like it has for nearly a 100 years... whistle
