At a lgs and found a Winchester model 70 lightweight with a stainless steel barrel and a blued receiver in 22-250. Barrel was stamped lightweight on the bolt side of the barrel it is a push feed model I can get it for $500 out the door it is in 90% condition no scope but has redfield 2 piece bases ANY INPUT NEGATIVE OR POSITIVE APPRECIATED

I am not sure what the rifle is either. Some will be along to update you correctly.

My first thought was for that price, buy it and see how it shoots.

.

It’s an aftermarket barrel.
I know that Winchester made a Featherweight but have not heard of a Lightweight.

What PoconoJack said +1.
Poconojack. Not the case sir definitely Winchester factory barrel. All the correct Winchester writing that's what I thought when I first saw it.... but definitely a factory Winchester barrel. It is even made like a feather weight barrel where the receiver meets the barrel. If I buy this gun will post pics. I almost thought someone had fitted the receiver with a featherweight barrel on it but it has LIGHTWEIGHT stamped on the opposite side of the caliber and Winchester logo. That's why I opened this up to the pros here.
Possibly a Coyote Light model. Later models have fluted barrel earlier ones didn't.
I've seen them. Factory 1980's push feed Lightweight model. Very limited numbers with SS barrel. Otherwise, same exact gun as a push feed Featherweight other than stock design. Why they put SS barrel on blued receiver is beyond me, always thought they looked silly.

My mistake, never seen one.

Yeah, that was kind of a fad for Winchester, for a couple years. Ive seen the lightweight model the op is talking about and Winchester also made a varmint model that was similar with a heavy stainless barrel and push feed. They are quite collectible because they didnt make a lot of them.
Update. Little lightweight 22-250 is coming home today. It stayed around the shop long enough for me to get it for $450 out the door. Will see I can post some pics tonight or tomorrow
If I remember correctly they made the stainless barrel varmint model in 222 REM and 220 Swift, I saw one many years ago and it has been the only one I have ever encountered.

Awesome. Would like to see pics. I knew what it was too but I would be repeating above. I haven’t seen one in person in 10 years. And I have went to a ton of gun shows.
