I have a left hand sako av L61R (long action) in 270 and was looking to put a composite stock on it and store the wood stock. Any insight appreciated
I put a McMillan SAKO Classic on my AV, basically the same action as the L61R, intentionally to save the original wood SAKO Hunter stock.

Straight comb, but no palm swell. Works well. Pics in my FS thread in the Classified section.

They also offer a SAKO Hunter, Monte Carlo comb with palm swell. Dunno if they offer left-hand version for those, but they do offer left-hand versions for many of their stocks. See mcmillanusa.com.

I also have a LH McMillan Classic on my Sako AV .338 Win. Mag. It fits me well and the stock just looks 'right'.
I was looking to do the same with my 338 lefty AV. It’s got a beautiful wood stock and I don’t want to scuff it when hunting. I want it with a straight comb as well.
I built a bunch of AV lefties. Put McMillans on all but two of them . 2are. Browns. You will like
i see a consensus a foot, thanks everyone
