Where are all the quality Lefty 22's ?

I can't find a CZ 452 American, Tikka hasn't released them yet, and Annie quit making the 1416 model. I'm stuck with butt ugly Savage or 9.5 lb Begara's. I can't believe they've left the Lefty's out in the cold with a simple rimfire.

A LH CZ 452 just ended on GB a few days ago. Not common. But, they are out there if you watch for them...

Yes I looked at it, appreciate the heads up....it has a burn mark or something on the stock, the owner can't explain it, says he thinks it's filler.

In todays market, that's not a bad deal even with the "beauty mark". Hard to be 100% with the pictures but it doesn't look like the finish's been disturbed so maybe came that way. If I wanted a nice LH .22 to shoot, it certainly wouldn't bother me. I have one almost identical and I sure wouldn't sell it for $800.

Very pleased with my Browning T-Bolt. She wont liklley win any matches but is every bit as accurate as I could possibly wish for.

Did Browning stop selling T-Bolts? I like mine.

I have a LH 22LR Kimber Custom Classic and really like it. I also have the same rifle in 22 Hornet.

They can be hard to find but they are great rifles.

I've got a like new CZ 452 but man I'm reluctant to let it go. Took a lot to aquire it.

+1 for the T-Bolt. I purchased one new last year. They are definitely still in production.

I have T-Bolts in 3 calibers and a Belgian made T-Bolt, all left handed. They are very well made and accurate.

I sold all my T Bolts about 7 years ago. It really bothered me the ejection port was on the right side of the action with a direct shot to my face and eyes. Yes, they were all accurate and reliable. But I consider them to be unsafe to shoot for a lefty.

I love my CZ 452.. Shoots lights out.

As a lefty, I understand what you are saying. I haven't had that issue yet so I'll continue to shoot mine.

Horse traded into an LH CZ 452 today. Definitely a bucket list gun for me.

Man I'm thankful to have come across my lefty 452. Blessed. Just picked up an S&W 41 target pistol to go with it. What a perfect pair.

I am such a snob and enjoying plopping gophers with my LH Savage 64 , now they are plentiful on GB again for the whopping big price of $149 . The only LH 22 semi on the planet !

Scheels had a lefty Mark II for a whopping $119.00 a few years back on the used rack. It’s my go to 22, and excels in red squirrel control. I would definitely consider a lefty model 64.

I have 4 Tbolts, a Kimber and two CZs, plus an Ultra Light Arms model 20 in 22LR. All left handed. If I kept only one lefty it would be the CZ 452 Lux with 28” barrel. Buds gunshop imported some a few years ago.

Not specifically what the OP requested. However, the first one to pop up in my searches over the past couple months. Not cheap. But, what is in today's market ? Swap off the red dot for a Leupold 4x and go kill stuff...

Does anyone else just shoot right handed rifles? I've never had an issue shooting them from the left side.

Like paying taxes, just cause you're used to it, doesn't make it a good idea. I have loaned backwards people my rifles. It's funny watching them.

Exactly! Its easy for righties to sneer at our frustration at the lack of LH offerings...but hand them a left handed bolt rifle and ask them if they would be happy with that for the rest of their life. They usually shut up.

I shot that way until I was almost 30. After I bought my LH T bolt about 30 years ago, I realized how much easier life would be with LH rifles, and it took me another 15 to be able to afford the full transition.

Many right handed shooters have told me about Gary Anderson shooting a RH bolt action LH in competition, and all that . . . But have never taken me up on my offer for them to shoot a LH rifle for a season and see “how that shoe fits”.

In my book, it was money well spent. Do I still love a pre ‘64 Model 70? Yes - But I hunt with a LH Blaser or Sauer.

The game has changed, since you posted that. Now you can get a left hand 10-22. I was a little bit of a naysayer, until I handled one. Ruger did their homework on that rifle. A lot of great features wrapped up into 1 package.. If I didn't already have a great 10-22, I'd consider buying a lefty..

That's a great rifle for that price point. I'll bet it will outshoot rifles 3 or 4 times what they cost, as well..

I do. Never an issue.. Off the bench, we have an advantage shooting right handed rifles.. I'm surprised more of you guys don't understand that.. Was at a shoot earlier today and proved that point.

Exactly, a RH action is far better for a Lefty off of a bench or rest. And vice-versa.

A surprising lack of understanding and experience to think otherwise. Here is why it is true:

A lefty using a LH rifle from a bench or rest or bi-pod is on the wrong side of the rifle and if you try both methods, you realize one LH/LH (LH shooter /LH action) is like a comedy of errors regarding efficiency from a bench or rest or bi-pod compared to a a LH shooter using a RH action.

I'm a lefty and every BR or Varmint gun I own is RH because it is a much faster, more efficient and convenient process of operation.

All my rifles shot standing are left handed because you must be able to support it with the right hand while cycling it.

Bold claim: Off-hand shooting is the only advantage to the LH/LH combination. I dislike shooting LH rifles from a bench for these reasons.

Many right handed BR shooters that have custom rifles use a left hand action for the same reasons (and vice versa).

The reasons:

FOR A LEFTY USING RH ACTION FROM BENCH OR REST:

Left hand on wrist provides optimal hold/leverage/grip for bolt operation. Otherwise with LH/LH you have to shift your left hand to the bolt and the right hand to the forearm or scope to keep the rifle from twisting while operating the action.

That's the first comical part. I've watched many RH/RH shooters struggle with this for hours on a bench. It adds up if you do it 100 or 200 times a day.

Since you're already on the right side of the rifle, the one has a perfect, effortless bird's eye view of the chamber versus a LH/LH feeling, groping or peering to locate the LH chamber since you can't see it as you're on the wrong side of the rifle and the scope blocks what little view and access you might have.

That's the other comical part, the reach-around, look-around, or blind feel since with LH/LH you're on the wrong side of the port.

A repeater mitigates the loading aspect (although you are still feeding it blindly with poor access) but not the cycling aspect.

So why is this only known by top BR shooters and (heretofore supposedly) lefties?

My take: Lefties had little choice and had to learn both ways.

RH friends that have tried my LH rifles from a bench quickly acknowledge the ergonomic and logistical advantages, but old habits are hard to change and they are less "ambidextrous" than lefties so they struggle on.

For example lefties use RH scissors effortlessly. If you handed a righty LH scissors, they would probably stab themselves...Tom

I just called my local gun store and asked if they could track one down for me. That is cheaper than 3000 primers or a Geissele trigger.

Left hand bolt guns all the way for me. I seldom shoot off a bench and will take the bolt on the left hand side every time, especially when something big and toothy or with tusks or horns (started to write horny but that sounded a little weird) is in front of me.

I was lucky enough to find a 452 American lefty AND a lefty 581!

I just pickup my Mark II Savage. The trigger is extremely nice, wood and metal fit and finish is good. The barrel is floated.

Hopefully it is a good shooter.

I just ordered a left handed Savage B22. I’ve been trying to get one for a long time and missed a few that came up on the auction sites. Looking forward to seeing how it shoots.

I just bought a LEFT HAND Ruger 10/22 Competition, NIB, for about $1250, all in. Can't wait to receive it from my FFL. Super excited.

I had been looking for one for over 3 months, with 4 backorders placed. Crazy times.

After I bought it, I told the FFL my story and the FFL basically said, "...yeah it's a very nice rifle, we can order another for you since you are excited about it." I said something like, "Try to. They're very limited production (500 in the first and maybe only run) and in demand and definitely call me back if you can get another." She sounded surprised yesterday afternoon when she called me back as there were none left at their distributors and none in their dealer network. That's when I told her she could have probably received $1500+ for the rifle had she put it up for auction!

Shot it this past weekend, at 30 yards resting against a post with iron sights it is definitely minute of squirrel.

Shot an armadillo with it yesterday evening.

I shot only 50 rounds but they all fed fine.

The bolt was not very smooth, I lubed it with a little Pro-Shot and it is much better.

It only comes with one magazine. I found three more for $80, almost 1/3 the cost of the rifle.

I've got a Savage Mark II. It has a banana style magazine------I wish they still made them with tube feed.

I picked up a Kimber Classic this summer, my first LH 22. I can’t believe I haven’t got to shoot it yet but I’m hoping to soon.

I'm a lefty myself, as my young son is and pops was.
I grew up shooting mostly lever rifles as it seemed to be dads compromise for being left handed.
Today, I'm still shooting the browning BL 22 I received as a gift back in 1982/'83. My son is learning on it also today.
I love the idea of the bottom ejection on Browning's semi auto 22. Ambidextrous feature that's for sure. Neither the BL 22 or SA 22 from Browning is a low cost gun though.
I also wouldn't hesitate to purchase Ruger 10/22 sportster being a lefty.
