Not a caliber I normally look for but a quick look on GB appears to confirm it: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/990030150

My totally inaccurate quantity guess based on how often I see LH Model 70's in general is that it's somewhere between "very few" & "not many".

I did remember seeing this collection a few years back & thinking if I had an extra $75,000 laying around in a shoebox in a closet somewhere, I could have been set for just about any type of hunting that might have popped up during the rest of my life. Unfortunately, I was a bit short on spare cash (by about $74,999) in 2017 with two kids in college so it slipped through my fingers. Acquiring a LH Model 70 338 Win Mag this way would have definitely been a spendy way to go:

I know for sure they did because I owned one for a short time period. Blued with walnut stock. I was not impressed with how the rifle shot or the build quality
There’s another one on GB for $2295. Guy here in Maine. I spoke with him and he does not seem to be willing to move on price.
They also made the stainless/walnut version in that. Picked one up at a local gun store, and ordered a McMillan stock for it.
Great bad weather gun (once I swapped stocks), but it had a few issues that plagued that era. Accuracy was acceptable but not great. And the scope base holes were drilled crooked. It was manageable with windage adjustable bases, but it would not allow for standard type bases and rings.
Sent it down the road, probably earlier than I should have, but never missed it.

I have also seen a listing for a LH stainless fluted barrel 338 with supposed factory synthetic stock. That's how it was advertised anyhow. Could have been some aftermarket work done, or it was a custom shop gun.
What are you referring to as “CF”? Controlled Feed, Classic Featherweight or? I have a LH Classic Stainless .338 and have seen a few sold, both blued and stainless, in the past few years. Don’t know how many were made in that chambering.
I have one from the Win. Custom Shop. It came as a stainless steel with a Mcmillan. Krieger barrel. The slickest smooth action of all the customs I own. Pure tack driver. I got tired of the tupperware look and went back to old school. Had the metal ceracoated Leupold matt black color and found a beautiful figured walnut stock from their custom shop and put it on. Kept the Mcmillan. I totally agree on the regular factory production was a hit and miss. Old machinery, disgruntled work force etc..

Sounds like an original custom shop extreme weather.

Those are very nice rifles.
I’ve never seen a factory 338 WM Model 70. I’ve seen them advertised, but not one in the flesh.

I had one custom made by Mark Penrod with a Kreiger barrel for a trip to Zimbabwe. Honest ¾” gun. I killed 6 animals with it- all one shot. It’s currently at Marks shop getting rebarreled to a 264WM for mule deer hunting. If you’re interested in the barrel (already chambered) and a McMillian LH Supergrade stock - let me know- I’m going to be selling them as soon as I get it back. It has 56 total rounds down the tube.

If you’re interested PM me and I can send you a couple photos.
I have a blued steel & walnut LH M70 in 338. It has a long barrel, no iron sights and a really nice piece of walnut. Haven’t done much with it as I tend to use a 375H&H.
I owned a blued one but eventually sold it for some stupid reason. I now have one I screwed a RH 338 barrel on. Great rifle.
