I have read Browning's are generally neutral but a lot of others are cast wrong for us lefties. Which guns new or used should a lefty be keeping an eye out for?

There are a few true left hand with the lever correct, but as you said, stock dimensions are what usually is not correct. A slight cast generally is OK, but its still not correct

Browning makes a lefty o/u, I believe it is the 725.
^^^This^^^ The cast and palm swell felt great when I was shopping around. I decided to go with a Beretta 682 instead just because it felt better to me. I believe Beretta has changed this model to a 692, but its still available as a lefty. Both are right levers IIRC. As for stocks, Coles of Maine is your friend.

Ithaca models 500 and 600 and Winchester 101 are sweet, they are all Japanese made, but are great quality, well built and fine shooting shotguns.

Buy a Shotgun laser bore sighter have it with you when you shop for shotguns. Use it to see if shotgun fits you. Around $12.

Do check before you buy. I have a Citori 12 ga that is neutral. I purchased a Citori 16 off go in one of the nicer grades - my "Sunday go to church grouse gun". Kicked like a mule, and couldn't hit with it. Looked down the barrel from the muzzle end and saw that it was cast for a right handed shooter. Am/have been in letting a new butt stock for it.
I have also read that Brownings are neutral. Never handled one that was, though.

I have shot this one and it is very nice for us lefties.

I got a Citori in 20 gauge and haven't had any problems with it. Shoots clays like a champ.
Browning also made the 525 and 625 in left handed models. They likely will be somewhat cheaper than the 725 if money is a concern.

Yes indeed, Amen to that.

Both Browning and Beretta make LH models - not all that common but they are around. Also, if you look around you can find LH stocks to swap over in case you want a specific model they don't offer in LH.

With RH stocks, as long as grip has no palm swell, if the butt stock is fitted with an adjustable comb you can make it fit a lefty quite well.

+2 on the Ithaca/SKB's. I've had 4 and the stocks were not cast at all and easy for me to shoot left handed. The are great values also.

i had a browning miroku made in japan over under and it was right handed casted. took a while to shoot right. i prefer not cast at all. like the bps but this is a pump.

Really good info so far, thanks. I live in the sticks and usually mail order stuff in but it sounds like in this case it would be best to see the gun in person. This will help which guns to take a good look at next time we travel to a big city. Would like to find a 28 gauge for my wife (who is also a lefty) and probably a 12 gauge for me although a 10 or 16 would be neat too.
My Ruger Red Label swings well with 30" barrels. I want to get my hands on the new Benelli O/U.

I have a Weatherby Orion 12 ga and a Franchi Renaissance in 28 gauge.

Pheasants at any reasonable range are almost always dinner. Reasonable is 50 yards or less. Yes, 50 yards, 28 gauge, no. 6 shot.

You didn't say what you wanted to use it for, or what your budget is.
Now if it's for any of the sporting events, trap, skeet, sporting clays, etc and your budget is big enough here's an American made shotgun that comes with 3 standard LH stocks or you can go direct to the factory in WI and have the stock fitted to you.
I did the latter and have never had a gun feel as good as the LH TA-Max O/U trap gun I now shoot.
There are people who feel lefties deserve better.
They're out there, you just have to keep looing.
Good luck.
