I do not remember see one of these, probably never made one.I want a 204 or 22-250 but I can't get past that pencil barrel on the 204 Hawkeye.
The 20 caliber bore is pretty small. A standard contour barrel will have a bit more steel due to small diameter of the bore.
No. Unless there was some special distributor run I never heard of, they only made the left hand Hawkeye and American in standard sporter barrel contours.

Just to cover the quibbles, the .25-06 Hawkeyes are all made with magnum contour barrels but even that's not a full varmint contour.
There's always the No. 1 Varmint.

Operates left or right hand.
Lousy shot that I am I would sting up a wolf and be offered a second shot and flub that too getting one in the pipe ! No singles for me.
Any particular reason for wanting a Ruger specifically? Not that I would question the choice, just curious.
A friend with a Sav Mod 11 204 was over today. We shot some gophers at about 200 Yds and closer. It did shoot very well. I was surprised at the noise it made and I might not settle on the 204. What we did today could have been done with my old junker 340 Sav 222. The main objective for me is a compromise wolf - coyote rifle which is probably the 243 RA that I have now. I am moving toward the 22-250 as always I want something new !
I would think the 22-250 with a proper bullet would put el lobo in his place pretty quickly.
After taking my first wolf #110 female, No monster that is for sure. My first thought was this animal "Aint no German Shepard!" LOL I'd look strongly at a Ruger Hawkeye LH 25-06 in SS/Lam. Mine has a magnum contour barrel profile as I believe all the 25-06's they produce do. 100r NBT at 3280 is plenty to reach out and still hit with authority. Also I think the SS/Lam are starting to dry up and on GB they are overpriced for the most part.

OSU that is what I am considering. 2506 Congratulations on that woffy, they are quite the animal,I hear them them howl at night sometimes when I go outside to "mark my territory". I usually see one or two a year but they are quicker than this old farmer. Jim,I am somewhat sour on DBM from my Ruger American. That leaves the Hawkeye or a Remington. Of the those two I like the bolt lock down while on safe with the Hawkeye. I do have a Tikka 595 which is flawless DBM in 223,this is my favorite however I am looking for a bit more juice. verns
