I am in the market for a left handed shotgun to use for goose and duck hunting. Have always used pumps but wanted to try a lefty super black eagle 3 and wondered if anyone has any experience or advice on other left Handed waterfowl super mag shotguns. I have had 870’s and never really cared for them

I'm LH but shoot a RH SBEII. If you want LH then go find a used SBEII LH--- there are some great deals to be had on them. Nothing the 3 has that the 2 hasn't BTDT.

I have a LH SBE.

The Good: It is my "keeper" shotgun, the only shotgun I own. Bought it 4 or 5 years ago when some buds invited me to go duck hunting. Exactly ZERO failures to feed, fire or eject any shot shells that I have fed it. Put a LimbSaver pad on it. Even the heavy 3.5" duck loads are comfortable to shoot.

The Bad: I have spent a good bit of time to get it to "fit" me. Bought it used. Even though it is a Left Hand receiver, when I finally found about the stock lock plates, found out it had a slight Right Hand cast to it. Also added a 1/4" luan ply spacer to increase LOP. Had to sand an extra shim to increase cast and decrease drop at heel. Now shooting to POA without any issues. But it took some doing.

If I were going top buy another shotgun, it would be an SBE III. I believe they have more shims and options for adjusting cast and drop. Also, I think at least one version of the SBE III may have the ability to to replace the cheek piece to adjust drop ? SBE III also comes with Bottom Lands camo which fairly closes matches the flooded bottoms where we hunt.

JMO... YMMV...

I shoot the original SBE. LH camo and if I were only allowed one shotgun, that would be it.

I used a stoeger uplander for a long time. Worked quite well for me.

LH Benelli then buy a shotgun laser sight and fit it to laser.

Browning BPS ejects out the bottom with safety on the tang

BPS is my favorite pump gun and is excellent for lefty shooters.

I had the SBE II in LH for over a decade. Put in Benelli shims to adjust POI. IIRC, you can get longer LOP recoil pads as well as LH recoil pads, and different comb heights with the Comfort-Tech stock. I put a lot of rounds thru it duck and goose hunting as well as clays. Inertia system has less moving parts, but it also puts most of the recoil on the shooter. I was getting some hang-ups on the 3rd round, so I put in a stiffer Wolf spring. Didn't really help. The trigger guard was jamming my finger every so often too. So I sent it down the road.

I bought a LH Beretta A400 3.5" with Kick-Off. Couldn't be happier. The gas system along with the kick-off pistons really knock down recoil. I shot some turkey loads patterning the gun and the difference was remarkable. It's fast too. Faster than I can shoot it accurately. I don't get the finger jamming either. I put in the cast on shims and raised the drop a bit. Very happy with the purchase.

I have a BPS 10 ga that's sat in the safe for a number of years. Just don't use it anymore. Big heavy thing with 30" barrel. My 3.5" 12s give me nearly the same results without the punishment. I will say that there is no finer pump than the BPS for leftys...unless you can find a vintage Model 37.
