I bet that'll fetch around $1800. It's the only chambering I don't have in a stainless model 70 classic, but I just can't justify it. It would be nothing but a safe queen for me and that thing deserves to hunt.
Noticed that last night. Not in the cards for me as I cash out to pay bills. However, the one thought I always have when I see the SS LH M70's is that they would be great in a McM Edge stock. I had one Pre-64 FWT in a McM Edge stock, and it was about ideal as far as weight, balance, and ergos. Brown paint, black speckles, red pad. Rock on...
We'll see how the stimulus money affects it, but I think the final tally will be around $1300. It's not a bad looking example, though I'd $hitcan that scope and the mounts.
One of my "grail" rifles. I threw my hat in the ring, we'll see how long that lasts. Hard to tell how the current economic conditions will figure in, I still see some collectables going for good money.
Looks like you're in the lead now
Priced me out of the market pretty quick plus my other 270s would get jealous. Bet it goes for one stimulus check easy, that are 3/4 ton truck load of TP.
I am not committed to winning the auction but it is always fun to play. I hope someone on here wins and puts it to good use as is. A couple of years ago I would have gone all in but I have one too many M70 LH 270 wins right now. In the last few years, I have sold three LH M70s with two being stainless since I'm trying to simplify and go on a few bucket list hunts. They are my favorite rifles but I like to change the stocks, barrels and other things which makes them expensive donor actions. Also, most are just to nice to be torn apart and a little on the heavy side for my tastes. I have a blued 270 win that I bought for a project but can't bring myself to use it for that.
I'm not holding out hope it will finish anywhere near what I could pay for it. It'll be interesting to watch though, I haven't seen one at auction in quite some time. I'm gonna guess it'll go north of $1500
North of $1,500 for straight auction is totally plausible... Last two that I can recall, a .30-06 went to $2,000 at straight auction. A .270 sold for BIN of ~ $1,700 a few months ago...

Agreed. I honestly dont remember the last time I've seen one in a standard bolt face sell for less. Unscoped they seem to normally go for $1600-1800 on the rare chance you can find them. If you find 2 or 3 for sale a year you're not doing too bad.
With you two spite bidders, it's not surprising.
I had an I’ll timed auction when this BS started and a guy got great buy on 30-06 blued at 1,265.00. I had figured it would go for closer to 1,800.00.
Up to $1725 with a day to go.
Better jump on it boys, 2 1/2 hours to go! That stimulus money must've helped it along, it's only at $2075.
Unbelievable during these times!!
That was more than I'd have paid.
Someone is very happy tonight.
Like my SS LH Ruger 06 as much as my LH Win in 06. They don't make either any more.
