OK, I just picked up a big bore drilling that’s unusual. Thought I knew a thing or 2 about drillings, having owned & used em for half a century and worked on them for 30+ years. But darned if I can figure what that little button this side of the front trigger is for. And how it works. Maybe some kind of de cocker or safety button??

I think I see all three cocking indicators on top. (nope, just two on second look)

Maybe it's the rifle selector?? confused Push it up with the right index finger to activate the rifle, maybe.

It's a wonderful old gun and of the highest grade with unusual wood. cool cool

I wish I owned it. wink
The rifle selector is on top and there are 3 cocking indicators. I’m thinking that button may be a safety or decocking button for the rifle barrel. More likeLy the former.
Has a tang aperture sight that pops up and is adjustable.
12 ga over 11 mm Mauser. Exc bores. Unusual trigger guard with lever release is the cocking & opening lever.
I bought it from an estate. If you’re interested PM me for pics & more info.
Very nice tight drilling.
