how strong are the combo guns; my valmet 412st compared to a bolt action like a rem 700. do i need to load down at all? thanks. ron

The Valmet rifles are proofed just like any other 30-06. Any (normal) factory loads should be fine. If handloading, if the loads get too hot, the rifle will be hard to break open.

Enjoy you rifle. My Tikka combination guns shoot like a bolt action rifle. I’m sure your Valmet will too.

Had a set of .30-06 barrels for my 412. Shot 180gr Sierra RN loaded pretty warm with no issues and great accuracy. Wish I’d never sold that gun.
