22-20ga. Model 24J-DL
Will get cut down, choke tubes and Williams grooved receiver peep.
Then a leather sling and someday cerra kote and wood refinish.
I kinda hate to mod it, but beaters cost as much as nice ones.

Your “J” DL looks exactly like my “H” DL only mine is a .22 Magnum. I do wonder what the difference is other than the rifle barrel chambering? I’d say that you got a good deal given that it has a silver receiver. “Improving” it isn’t going to increase it’s value.

The J and H are date codes. There is a chart that you can google that gives the year for each letter. J and H are in the late fifties, I think. The DL is the deluxe model with the roll stamp turkey or grouse and the fox. Many had the silver colored receiver, but I've owned a couple with blued receivers.
